Hello, Id Pro Quo creator! Thank you for writing for me! I'm Mal or Mali (malachiical @ AO3 as well); I'll try to keep each individual section of this letter brief, and you should be able to skip to wherever you like with anchor links and/or just expand the parts relevant to you via cut. I hope our ids align and you have a blast writing, because I'm definitely looking forward to whatever you come up with!

Jonah Jameson might well be older than him, you could go either way with that! and it's not an age gap but I am also into Nathan and Adrian finding each other attractive/hot!
  • descriptions of making out tbh
  • trans headcanons where it’s not A Thing in the fic, no coming out or explanations necessary, or it's just accepted and not super dwelled on unless the prompt is about self-exploration. no Having To Deal With Bigotry or issuefic or anything, just character(s) happen(s) to be trans (both same gender/pronouns as in canon and different gender/pronouns are fine)

Crossover Fandom
Hiruma Youichi (Eyeshield 21)/Ootori Kyouya (Ouran High School Host Club)

This ship strikes me as fascinating and with a ton of potential for fun stuff! Hiruma and Kyouya are incredibly different people, but also alike in a lot of ways that I think could both make them respect one another, be impressed by one another, see the value in one another, and also sometimes grate on each others' nerves like hell. They are both likely to know way too much about each other, and about each others' clubmates/teammates, and I could easily see them being on mostly equal footing.

I'm betting both would have a hard time actually pulling off blackmailing the other (or people close enough to the other to have any of their protection) or really getting one over on the other, with maybe one or two moments on either side where they get the upper hand for a VERY short period before the other manages to get things back under control. This would usually leave them having to approach each other in other ways, either more subtle manipulation (that they're both probably aware of and also aware that they're both aware of) or flat-out making deals with each other for mutual benefit. Which is great because they'd also make a scary good team when and if they did come together, so I could also see them both being savvy enough to seek the other out as a useful contact to get and to uphold.

Basically, with these two I especially like the idea of them being basically evenly matched, and them being drawn to each other specifically because of that. Neither of them actually being able to have the upper hand over the other or really intimidate the other is a key part of why I'm interested in them!

(I would also like to mention that while Hiruma resembles Kyouya waaaay more than he resembles Tamaki, still, Jesus, blond boys who are super passionate about a thing are going to be the death of Kyouya seriously. I am also fine with some minor former or current one-sided Kyouya->Tamaki feelings, and it's cool if Hiruma has some one-sided feelings for someone, I don't really have Feelings Preferences there. Just assume that he and Mamori aren't together, feelings can have happened but whether it's one-sided or a handwavey breakup or just something they decided wouldn't work is fine, I imagine they're still on fine terms.)

Requested Tags

  • A/B Reach Into Each Others' Clothing For Weapons They Know Will Be There In A Fight
  • Character From Upper-Class Background Is Very Bad At Blending In While On The Run
  • I will now express my feelings through the power of fashion
  • Matchmaking: Characters help A/B to get together
  • Suddenly Dinosaurs!
These tags are varying degrees of cracky; they're just little prompts that I imagine could be played as silly in the general tone of these two canons! For the weapons one, well, who knows who they'd be fighting and I know Kyouya doesn't exactly carry weapons but I am very good with either him just reaching into Hiruma's clothes for one of his countless guns or for you to change it so he does have something on him for whatever reason. For the second, again, not sure what Kyouya would be "on the run" from but any "upper-class character is very bad at blending" automatically makes me think Ouran, so obviously that would be Kyouya! "I will now express my feelings through the power of fashion" also just makes me think of the Host Club's theme days and how they dress up for them, so maybe some kind of flirting/confession from one or both of them doing that sort of thing? (Maybe Kyouya has the Host Club do a sports or cheerleading thing?) For the matchmaking prompt I can definitely see Canon-Typical Shenanigans with the Host Club and/or Deimon Devil Bats trying to push the two together... And finally, suddenly dinosaurs just seems like it could be fun/funny, no idea how that would happen and I don't care, just have fun with it!

  • allies of convenience to lovers
  • Our Courtship Was So Low-key You Couldn't Even Tell It Was Happening
  • Pining - Mutual admiration
These are the get-together tags! For "allies of convenience to lovers," I can imagine Kyouya and Hiruma allying due to having respect for how the other operates and realizing they could mutually benefit, and then their relationship shifting over time. For the low-key courtship tag, the phrasing of that one just makes me laugh and I could see Kyouya being so practical about it and both of them acting so... not differently with each other due to their courtship that literally no one notices it, lol. And the mutual admiration pining kinda circles back around to that first idea, with both admiring the way the other does things and what they can accomplish and those feelings shifting towards something more than just admiration over time, pining ensues, etc.!

  • Alternate Universe - everyone is a woman
  • Highly competent characters are even better together
  • Rescue - Character did not actually need rescued but appreciates the effort
  • Roommates/Housemates - unexpected shared domesticity leads to feelings
These are more general scenario tags than the others, but they all intrigue me! For an "everyone is a woman" AU, I don't mind if the entire Deimon Devil Bats team is also women or if it's just the Host Club, but I really do adore the idea of the Host Club specifically all being girls pretending to be guys for the club, whether or not the rest of the school knows it (maybe it's an all girls' school in this AU?). I would adore F/F for this but would also be there for M/F! For highly competent characters, well, these two absolutely are that and if you wanted to write me an entire story of these two just being terrifyingly competent when working together I would love that. For the rescue tag, I love one of them going to help out the other in their very terrifyingly competent and kinda ruthless ways only to find that it wasn't exactly necessary. (Were there already feelings involved or is that the moment the rescuing party falls in love?) Finally, for roommates/housemates -- maybe Hiruma and Kyouya wind up at the same college and just happen to get an apartment together? Maybe they knew each other ahead of time and agreed to room together but didn't know each other too intimately until that happens?

  • Arranged Marriage
  • Arranged Marriage - Contract Bought Out By Someone Else
  • Marriage - Marrying to save someone from an arranged political marriage
  • Nobody Believes They Married For Love
  • Pining - From Fuckbuddy to Fuckfiance
  • pining for each other while married (to each other)
THESE ARE ALL THE MARRIAGE TAGS. I love the idea of these two marrying for pratical reasons, which is what most of these tags are. Arranged marriage in a universe where that'd handwavey make sense for Kyouya's family? Or arranged marriage where Hiruma buys out the contract for whatever reason -- or Kyouya does? (Do they know each other beforehand or not?) Arranged political marriage, you can handwave whether it's political or just good for business, but it's likely to be Kyouya -- maybe he and Hiruma are on good enough terms that they do this to help Kyouya out of an unwanted situation or maybe they actually do have feelings? To skip ahead, "pining for each other while married (to each other)" could imply that they married for practical reasons and then developed feelings, or had feelings but both presented the marriage (even to each other) as just being practical... And then "from fuckbuddy to fuckfiance" could imply a casual sex/FWB relationship that leads to marriage for love or one that leads to them deciding for practical reasons that they might as well marry for Reasons and be basically legally married FWB (and then feelings?). Finally, "nobody believes they married for love" shakes all that up in a way I find fun, where it's really easy to think they just married for practical reasons, maybe because they aren't sappy people, but it turns out there definitely are feelings there!

  • Bantering and Bickering as Flirting
  • Bed Sharing Justified As It Just Being Practical
  • Character in casual arrangement realizes they don't consider themself single
  • Fake Dating: intimacy keeps escalating to avoid losing face
  • Forced Proximity - THERE WAS ONLY ONE BED
THESE ARE WHAT I THINK OF AS THE TROPEY TAGS. Not that a lot of the others aren't tropey, but these ones definitely feel like The Tropes What I Love. I can see these two bantering and even seeming like they're fighting and it being a form of flirting/courtship for them, something that does nothing but intrigue them more. Bed sharing before getting together/as the impetus for getting together is CATNIP for me, and I love both the tags for it, one where they have no other choice (at least not one either will accept) or one where they might have other options but choose that one "for practical reasons" (whether they mean that or not). I love the "doesn't consier themself single" tag a lot, the idea that they're having casual sex/are FWB/maybe even aren't having sex or even kissing but have some sort of arrangement that isn't them dating but suddenly oops one or both of them realizes they kind of do feel like it's a relationship??? And finally, FAKE DATING, which I love. Them both escalating because they both refuse to back down makes me laugh because I can see it a little too easily. I don't even care why they're fake dating, I just love that.

  • Casual Nonsexual Crossdressing
  • Char. wears a suit - oh no they're hot; then they get hurt & disheveled - oh no they're even hotter
  • Crossdressing - Character A is extremely into Character B crossdressing
  • Crossdressing to escape danger
  • Sudden Realization - Character dressing up nicely leads to Oh No They're Hot
These are all clothing-related tags! Three of them are crossdressing because, well, Ouran. "Casual nonsexual" could be Kyouya for a theme day or could just be one of Tamaki's weird ideas like when they crossdressed for Haruhi, but if you want to have Hiruma casually crossdressing for whatever reason I will not complain! "To escape danger" intrigues me because what danger and also because crossdressing to escape danger feels like it could be played semi-straight while being a tongue-in-cheek premise, and could be either or both of them... And for one being extremely into the other crossdressing, again it might make the most sense if Hiruma is Character A but I am happy if you write Kyouya as Character A too! Then of course there are the two "dressing up nicely/in a suit = Oh No They're Hot" tags, which are just catnip to me. Again, could be a theme day for the Host Club, could be a formal event of some kind, could be any reason. Any reason for one or both of them getting hurt and disheveled is also very welcome... ;)

  • Finding Someone Sleeping and Putting a Blanket or Coat Over Them
  • Hurt/Comfort - Shoulder massage
  • The softer side of harder characters
These three tags are ones I just find... soft. And I love it. I'm a sucker for someone sleeping getting a coat or blanket draped over them (either of them would work for this, and I'm almost more of a sucker for a coat but blanket would also be so good!), and I looove shoulder massages, especially for tense or stressed characters (again, either could work for this!). And of course "the softer side of harder characters" is general but looking at both of them as people who sort of put up untouchable fronts in their own different ways, I like there being softer elements among the hard/sharp/cold ones.

  • Pulling someone in by their tie for a kiss
  • rough sex turns unexpectedly tender and/or emotional (and then maybe rough again)
Finally, these two tags are just hot. Pulling someone in by their tie to kiss them is hot; could be school uniform tie or could be one or both of them dressed up nice! And the other is just a flat-out smut prompt, but again I love just softer sides to characters who are usually not that and for these two to experience and (maybe almost unintentionally) display actual emotion for one another. Love this shit, go nuts with it.

Canon-Specific DNWs

  • smut with either character under 16
  • infidelity (just have them not with any of the other characters when they're together)
Canon-Specific Likes

  • two canons just taking place in the same universe and playing around with what that might mean
  • slight canon AUs to make crossovers work
  • Hiruma and Kyouya being evenly matched/on equal footing
  • noncanon background pairings I actually enjoy if they happen to come up: Sena/Monta, Sena/Suzuna, Mamori/Suzuna, Musashi/Kurita, Jumonji/Kuroki/Togano, Natsuhiko/Ishimaru, basically any from the other teams, Hikaru/Kaoru, Honey/Mori, Nekozawa/Tamaki, Kasanoda/Tetsuya, Haruhi/Renge, Haruhi/basically any of the hosts singularly or together...
  • NAMING CONVENTIONS. Hiruma usually comes up with somewhat dismissive/insulting/abraisive things to call people, so what about if/when he uses Kyouya's name? is Kyouya on a first or last name basis with him? feel free to include honorifics if you like as well, extrapolating from the characters' usage of them in canon.
  • if you're interested, I like trans headcanons for these characters! I like the idea of Kyouya as a trans girl or nonbinary, but trans boy is fine too, and anything's fine for Hiruma or pretty much any of the other characters. if Haruhi shows up or is mentioned I also have a slight preference for her as nonbinary, but trans boy is fine -- just not trans girl, please! and of course trans headcanons aren't obligatory!
  • I am actually always into the idea of the Host Club as all being girls who are pretending to be guys, just like Haruhi, either with the other Ouran students aware or not -- maybe it's an all girls' school? so feel free to play with that genderswap AU, with the Devil Bats genderswapped as well or not! Hiruma/Kyouya being m/f or f/f are both fine if you go this route!

Marvel (Comics)
J. Jonah Jameson/Quentin Beck

[Where you can find the comics: Here!
Most Pertinent Issues:
Five times J. Jonah Jameson worked with or created a supervillain - The Amazing Spider-Man (1963) Issues #20, #25, #58, #82, and Annual 10
Two times Mysterio used Jameson to target Spider-Man - The Amazing Spider-Man (1963) Issues #13 and #24
That time Quentin Beck ran a nursing home and didn't need to try to protect May and Peter but did - The Amazing Spider-Man (1963) Issues #193-199
Mysterio just avoiding ever causing actual deaths - The Spectacular Spider-Man (1976) Issues #50-51, Questprobe Issue #2, Symbiote Spider-Man (2019) Issue #1, The Amazing Spider-Man (1963) Issue #311]

I just love how weirdly tied to Jameson and the Bugle a lot of Mysterio's earliest career and attempts at defeating Spider-Man are! First Quentin Beck pretends to be Spider-Man, then once the Bugle turns the city against him, he sends J. Jonah Jameson specifically a note "saying he could get rid of Spider-Man single-handed" to get a meeting with him and gets Jonah totally on his side to the point of being basically heralded as a hero! Then about 2 years later, after Jameson again turns the people of New York against Spider-Man (unprompted this time), Beck contacts Jameson and the Bugle again pretending to be a renowned European psychiatrist named Dr. Ludwig Rinehart, convincing him that Spider-Man is on the verge of going insane and then proceeding to try to gaslight Spider-Man into thinking he's nuts and revealing his secret identity to him.

The fact that Quentin Beck keeps going to J. Jonah Jameson and the Bugle, and Jonah keeps eagerly helping despite not knowing the score because he just hates Spider-Man THAT MUCH, combined with the fact that in multiple other storylines Jonah has actually created supervillains in an attempt to bring down Spider-Man, makes me think the two could actually get along really well. Especially since Mysterio's crimes, according to some issues of canon, just don't have a body count, and at some points (like in the arc where he's secretly in charge of a nursing home) even his attempts to kill Spider-Man are totally illusory and he's actually unnecessarily protective of innocent people.

Speaking of which, part of why I really enjoy these two is how close to the line both of them are. J. Jonah Jameson is deep down a kind man but is also a little bit willing to compromise his newspaper to take down Spider-Man and even, as mentioned, goes so far as to commission and create supervillains to try to take Spider-Man down. Quentin Beck is a supervillain who is also careful not to actually kill anyone (and is crushed the first time someone accidentally dies during one of his crimes) and who has tried to retire multiple points in his career, who seems mostly to be treating supervillainy as a game. They both hate Spider-Man and neither of them is actually that bad a person, but one of them happens to be a supervillain, and I find that kind of great. I could love Jonah taking that final step into supervillainy, or just being willing to work and sleep with and romance with Quentin even while he's Mysterio... I could also really love the idea of Quentin trying to go straight and do something other than supervillainy and getting support from Jonah, who once believed in and gave a chance to Foswell even after the whole Big Man situation. Any of those scenarios could be nice!

Requested Tags

  • Accidental Engagement - Joke Marriage Proposal on TV Mistaken As Real by the Press
Okay, this tag is very specific, and honestly, I had to choose it when I saw it because the idea that popped into my head made me grin. Jameson is in charge of one of the major press publications in New York City (more than one, if you keep the fact that the occasional comics detail that the Bugle offices also publish at least one magazine), but the Daily Bugle definitely isn't the only one out there; he has competitors, even ones who personally dislike him. So if Mysterio happened to jokingly/mockingly propose while some news cameras were running or the like, someone out there might be willing to run with the story both because it's likely to get a lot of people's attention and to mess with Jameson specifically! How would both of them react to that? (So long as there's definitely something between them by the end I don't mind if this doesn't lead to a real proposal or marriage or anything.)

  • Alternate Universe - everyone is a woman
Okay look. I can't even explain it but for these two I am very into genderswaps! First, by "everyone" I'm fine if that means just them but I'd also be into it if it was literally everyone! All other supervillains, all other Bugle employees, Spider-Woman, Uncle Mayhew? Go for it. And feel free to write either of them, or any other characters, as either cis women or trans women! And... okay, I won't lie, for this tag my very first thought was F/F with Jonah as a butch lesbian who presents almost exactly the same as in canon sans mustache because goddamn that's hot. And Mysterio still as a ripped, theatrical nerd in spandex, but a woman. Come on. I'm into it. (Feel free to combine ANY other tags with this one!)

  • Bonding - characters grow closer despite themselves
  • Courtship/Wooing
  • Falling for unexpected character - attempt at manipulation leads to feelings
  • Getting Together - but involving increasingly elaborate seduction attempts
  • Undercover - Undercover as a Couple Leads to Mutual Feelings
These tags are various ways that they could get together and I love all of them. Them bonding when they don't exactly want to be (are they forced to work together for some reason? a common enemy?)! One of them actively trying to court/woo the other, or is a more mutual affair? For "attempt at manipulation leads to feelings" I imagine Beck, after the "Dr. Rinehart" fiasco, pretending to be someone else for a plot but this time trying to get close to Jameson in an attempt to keep him from interfering, but instead falling for him. I could not resist the "increasingly elaborate seduction attempts" tag (though one singular elaborate attempt is also good; I like that tag too!) when Mysterio is involved because of course. And undercover as a couple! I love that so much and I don't even care what circumstances would lead them to going undercover. Is Beck still a criminal or is he trying to reform; is this something he's looking into, or is Jameson trying to investigate a scoop, or is it something more low-key than that and one of them just needs a date for something? (Hell, are they just mildly trolling Spider-Man?)

  • Character Doesn't Expect Tenderness But Gets It Anyway
  • Hurt/Comfort - Injured A shows Up on B's doorstep Saying "I didn't know where else to go"
  • Hurt/Comfort - Lending clothes to sick/hurt character
  • Hurt/Comfort - Tending injuries
  • Hurt/Comfort - Undressing a hurt(/sick) & out of it character from their suit and tie
  • patching someone up with the first aid kit from your car
THE HURT/COMFORT TAGS! For a lot of these, well, it does make a lot more sense for Beck to be the one hurt/in need of comfort. He had a rough home life growing up and has been around some rough people since, so not expecting tenderness would make sense. Him getting injured and not knowing who else to turn to and not being able to go to a doctor or hospital also sadly makes sense; are he and Jameson slightly closer by the point he shows up on his doorstep or have the few times they interacted in canon still made Jameson the only person Beck could think of to even try to turn to? Either character could lend the other clothes (though if it's Beck there's an added possibility that maybe Beck is in trouble as well and needs to lie low and the clothes are almost a disguise themself); either could tend injuries, as both have their enemies even if Jameson doesn't exactly get into fights, or they could need to patch each other up for whatever reason. Heck, for the suit and tie one, Jameson wears a suit and tie more often than Quentin does, though again that prompt could work for either of them! Finally, for the other patching up injuries one... I could see either being practical enough to have a first aid kit in their car and just making do.

  • Both Captured - Forced to Work Together to Escape
  • Case Fic - Character Investigating the Case Winds Up Hurt/In Peril as a Result
  • Identity Porn - Characters Match on Online Dating/Hook-up App
  • Power Outage
  • Unlikely Team-Ups
  • Villain Undergoes Redemption Arc
These tags are various scenarios that don't quite fit into other categories, whether specific or much broader! Who might capture them and how well might they be able to set aside any differences they have to work together? Who is "investigating the case"; is it something Mysterio is looking into or a story Jameson is snooping into? The identity porn tag is very specific and just makes me grin; do they recognize each other when matched on the app or do they bond a bit over messages before meeting up in person and going "oh fuck it's you"? Is a power outage due to some plan of Mysterio's, or does some other villain do it, or is there a natural disaster or just a normal storm; is it in a public place, Mysterio's hideout, the Daily Bugle, one of their homes? Are they at odds at the start, already flirting, or established (at least a little)? I would love just generally them teaming up for something, and I love redemption arcs, whether that ends with Mysterio as a good guy or Beck as a civilian.

  • Casual Nonsexual Crossdressing
  • Crossdressing - Character A is extremely into Character B crossdressing
  • Looking pretty damn hot in a scruffy jumper/sweater
  • Sharing Clothes - A feels surge of affection or attraction at seeing B wearing A's own clothes
  • Shirtsleeves rolled up to elbows
  • That exhausted moment late in the evening when the necktie is undone and the sleeves rolled up
These are all clothing-related tags and I just find them hot! For the crossdressing tags... Look, Mysterio's done it before, canonically. So Beck getting into some disguise as a woman or just casually making himself look like one for reasons could very easily be a thing! Jameson could be into it! For the scruffy jumper/sweater, I don't mind which of them is wearing it so long as the other finds them surprisingly hot. Same with the clothes sharing tag; either could borrow clothing (or even a jacket or something) from the other so long as the other is into it (either affection or attraction or both are great!). And sleeves rolled up is just a hot, relaxed and intimate sort of look; I love both tags for that, feel free to just leave it there or go with the late evening, necktie undone one for extra hot and extra intimacy. :D

  • Character Everyone Thought Would Do A Betrayal Instead Does A Loyalty
  • Loyalty Kink - Risking Self For Someone
  • Rescue - Saved by unexpected person when they thought no one would come
LOYALTY TAGS. Look, obviously people would be expecting Mysterio to betray Jameson if they were working together (or even dating), whether Beck was still a supervillain or was purporting to try to reform. And I love the idea of him not only not using Jameson or turning on him when everyone (or most people) expects him to, but also flat-out doing something that really shows that he's loyal/invested, that he cares. That is catnip for me. I could love either of them risking themself for the other if they're in trouble, and I could love either rescuing the other maybe even at an early point in their relationship/acquantance when it's still a surprise that they would do so!

  • Characters Surprised to Find Each Other at a Gay Bar
  • Journey of gay/queer self-discovery
These two are the LGBT tags and I love them. For the first, I mean... They usually only meet when Mysterio is doing a crime thing and getting the Bugle involved somehow, so it could be interesting to get them interacting under different circumstances and give them a chance to kinda start over a little bit. I could see it being awkward, them sharing a drink, them getting to talking, them finding each other attractive and ending up clicking in general... They could decide to go home together, or hook up in the bathroom or alleyway, or just decide to meet up again some other time, I am honestly not picky! And as for the second tag, well, I just generally like this kind of thing with these two. For Jameson especially, he has two ex-wives and a son, so I could see him having a late-in-life realization that he's gay or bi (or just in general "into men" without claiming any label, I'm easy); I feel like Beck is more likely to already know this about himself but you're welcome to have him coming to that realization instead/too! And if you'd like either of them realizing they're trans I could also be very into that, whether just one of them is or if maybe one of them being trans gets the other to questioning their own gender more?

These tags are just sweeter and softer ones and I am a sucker for that with these two! They're both hardened and cynical in their own ways so either or both could work for the first tag... Either or both could also work for pining, tbh, and I just really could see either of them not exactly knowing what to say or how. As for the praise one, though? That is almost certainly Beck. That guy just really loves attention and I feel like being praised might just make him fall apart. And I love it.

  • how do i politely ask him/her to slam me against a wall and make out with me?
  • Praise Kink
  • Pulling someone in by their tie for a kiss
AND HERE ARE THE HOT TAGS. I could see either just wanting the other to get kinda forceful and manhandly, and both wear ties (though Jameson does wear them more from what I can tell) so either could pull/yank the other in for a kiss (which is just way too hot). And again, I really feel like Beck specifically would be into being praised. Sorry, but the guy just really loves attention and I feel like being praised might just make him fall apart and I love it.

  • Intimacy - One character shaves another's face with a straight razor
  • Smoking kink - Lighting a cigarette for the other person while it's in their mouth
  • Smoking kink - sharing your last cigarette
  • That Time of Night So Late It's Early Again (And the Liminal Conversations Had At This Hour)
Finally, these tags are just... scenarios for varying types and amounts of intimacy. The danger of the straight razor thing and the amount of trust it shows just gets to me and I can see either doing so for the other. (Maybe only one of them has experience using a straight razor and the other decides to trust them with it...?) For smoking kink, I'm pretty sure Jonah is the one of them that smokes, though Beck has done so from time to time when in disguise, so while it might work best to have Beck lighting Jameson's cigarette, it could work either way and they could definitely share one. Finally, I love, love late night/early morning conversations that are just in the (relative) quiet when things are kinda wound down and there being an unreality and intimacy to them; lean into it and I'm guaranteed to adore it!

Canon-Specific DNWs

  • Quentin Beck being written as a purposeful or unrepentant killer, delusional, or just in general "criminally insane" or as irredeemably evil
  • infidelity (just putting this here to specify to just... handwave Jonah not being married or engaged to or seeing anyone else during whatever time the story is set)
  • anything related to that one Webspinners comic
Canon-Specific Likes

  • both of them being sweet under the fronts they put forward
  • how some of Beck's various schemes got the Bugle involved, and therefore Jameson...
  • bonding over disliking Spider-Man
  • supervillains who retire and actually go into something else
  • nicknames! pet names! I could really enjoy Jonah and Quentin using kinda cheesy endearments for each other, tbh, like sweet, sweetheart, darling, once they actually become a thing...
  • if you're interested, I like trans headcanons for these characters, especially Quentin but you're welcome to do something with Jonah! anything works for either of them, nonbinary or trans man or trans woman, though Jonah having a son with his wife might mean he's not a trans man. and of course trans headcanons aren't obligatory!

The Spectacular Spider-Man (Cartoon)
Adrian Toomes/Otto Octavius

[Where you can find the series: Here!
Most Pertinent Episodes:
For the two together - S1E1 (Survival of the Fittest) (though this is majorly a Vulture episode); S1E11 (Group Therapy); S2E3 (Reinforcement); S2E4 (Shear Strength); S2E8 (Accomplices) (for them showing up at the auction together, also interesting for Ock's character in some ways); S2E10 (Gangland)
For Otto - S1E5 (Competition); S1E6 (The Invisible Hand); S1E7 (Catalyst) (only in a small scene); S1E8 (Reaction) (Doctor Octopus origin episode, and check the photo on Otto's wall!); S2E1 (Blueprints) (scene at end as Master Planner); S2E2 (Destructive Testing) (scene at beginning and end as Master Planner)
...Adrian literally does not have episodes where his relationship with Otto isn't immensely interesting to me! Well then.]

I am just WAY TOO INVESTED in these ridiculous theatrical supervillains being pre-supervillain friends who are now loyal and in love while trying to take over the world/take murderous revenge!

While the first episode introduces both characters with Adrian furious at Otto, it makes sense, since they seem to have been close before (the photo on Otto's wall in the Doctor Octopus origin episode!) and Adrian was probably feeling hurt/betrayed. The rest of their dynamic is so far from what one might expect from that first impression that it's insane! Reunited as cellmates, Vulture helping Doc Ock with a big jailbreak, not just working together in the Sinister Six but Vulture ceding his desire to take vengeance on Osborn to follow Ock's plan to take out Spider-Man first... And they just never work apart again? Adrian is one of only three people to find out the Master Planner's true identity, part of his inner circle! When Ock tests out the technology meant to allow him to hack into every single electrical device in the city, he does so by trying to kill Norman Osborn, seemingly for Adrian's sake, and despite revenge being Vulture's driving motivation Adrian is totally fine about it not working. When Otto tries to credit him and Phineas Mason and for doing brilliant work assembling the technology, Adrian immediately demurs the compliment and turns it back around on him: "The brainwork was all yours, Otto." For a grouchy old man, he smiles a lot around Otto, too!

And even after the Master Planner's master plan is defeated and literally every other member of the Sinister Six seems to go their separate ways and do their own things, Vulture just stays with Doctor Octopus, seemingly acting as bodyguard for the auction, for the Valentine's Day summit (where they also dress up fancy and hot)... There are also just these cute little touches I love, like how in the first Sinister Six fight when Spider-Man jumps on the Vulture's back you can see the back of Doctor Octopus's head tracking them, and a few moments later Otto is the one to pull Spider-Man off Adrian's back. And when Doctor Octopus puts a tentacle on everyone's shoulders in the Sinister Six ep to ease them back down into their chairs, it looks like his tentacle is on Adrian's back instead of his shoulder. And when Hammerhead shoots at Adrian at the summit and knocks him unconscious, Otto's cry of "TREACHERY!" is fuckin pissed and he just has no patience for Tombstone in that fight after. I love how Ock seems to honestly care about his team and make an effort to make them happy, and how Vulture is perfectly willing to put his own goals on the backburner in a way that feels very "I am helping this man take over the world because he wants to and he deserves to get whatever he wants, fuck you." I love seeing these supervillains have huge soft spots, in general and especially for each other!

TL;DR they married, ty for reading my villain shipping Ted Talk.

  • Accidental Baby Acquisition
  • Monstrous transformation does not get in the way of a relationship - in fact it makes things better
  • Wing Kink
These are just some fun scenario tags! For Accidental Baby Acquisition, I could enjoy it being a Sinister Six baby in general with the focus on these two, or just these two! I'd love to see how they find the baby, what the circumstances are, how they end up keeping it. How good are they with kids? What are either of them like with a baby? I get the impression that unlike his comics counterpart, Adrian was never a family man, doesn't have any kids, but I wouldn't mind if you wrote him as having experience with babies before! As for the other two tags, I would be super happy if Otto transformed into something, but I don't have as solid ideas as to what; maybe a vampire? Maybe an octopus mermaid or something? But I admit my very first thought was of Vulture being a harpy of some kind! Maybe it's latent in his DNA (those eyes and teeth!) and happens when he's hurt or it's prompted by some experiment or just happens at a certain point late in his life, or maybe it's somethin he's just turned into (maybe by Miles Warren, making him partly animal?)... Wing kink could go very well there, but I would also happily take wing kink with just the metal wings on his flight suit somehow, or just an inexplicable wings growing out of either of them as in classic wing kink fic!

  • Alternate Universe - Gender Changes
  • Alternate Universe - The villains are the heroes and the heroes are the villains
  • Character is secretly a supernatural creature.
These are the alternate universe tags I thought could be the most fun! For gender changes, I am happy with always-a-woman for them (and/or any of the rest of the Six) or genderbend universe for the whole cast if you'd like! I am also happy for trans fic with either of them being trans women or nonbinary. In either case, I'd enjoy M/F, F/F, M/NB, F/NB, or NB/NB! For the "villains are heroes, heroes are villains" universe I'd love to see how you translate their origins and actions into them actually being superheroes and maybe toying with the idea of them having to face and evil Spider-Man! And finally, for character secretly being a supernatural creature, I am here for that being true of either or both of them! Is Adrian a harpy or a swan... bachelor? (Bird-based folklore tends toward being women it seems; I'm happy for him to just be a dude one or for genderswap/trans woman stuff.) Is Otto a selkie or an octopus merperson? Are they both vampires hiding it from most other people (are they the only ones in the Sinister Six who are or are more of them), or is one a shapeshifter and the other a fae and they're just kinda keeping it from each other? Feel free to just play with one or both of them being secretly not human or give it a whole urban fantasy feel!

  • Badass in Distress
  • Does it hurt - let me fix that
  • Hurt/Comfort – Catching hurt character as they collapse
  • Hurt/Comfort - Character isn't used to being loved and shown tenderness/affection
  • Hurt/Comfort - Tending injuries
  • A rescues B from trouble B knowingly walked into
These are tags where at least one of the two is in trouble, and I'll try to keep this part short! Both are badasses and so either could be the one in distress (or it could be mutual), and distress could mean either actually hurt (or sick?) or just in a dangerous position! "Does it hurt - let me fix that" is just a very iddy tag to me for these two because it doesn't just go from sympathy to comfort but it seems like it would come from very solutions-oriented people like these two are; again, either or both of them could be hurt and either or both of them could immediately be going to "let me fix it"! For the outright hurt/comfort tags, well... Someone hurt collapsing can be dramatic at the best of times but in this case Vulture has wings and Ock has tentacles and so the collapse/fall and the catch could both be really dramatic! Just someone collapsing on their feet is iddy as hell to me, too, though! I feel like neither of them, the way they seemed to be before their villain origins, would be used to being loved or shown tenderness/affection (maybe except already by each other), so again this could work for either or both of them! And for tending injuries, I am happy either either being hurt, or with both being hurt and it being a more mutual tending. Finally, with A rescuing B from trouble that B knowingly walked into, again, I am happy for either of them to be A! Why did the other knowingly walk into trouble? Is the rescue actually a part of the plan, did they think B could handle it and then things went to shit, or did B know there was a chance it would get very, very bad?

  • Can't stop thinking about it - other characters assumed they were dating
  • Wooing - Younger character pursues older character
While most of the other tags could include getting-together plots, imo, with these two it's just baked in and I love both of them! For the first, I love the idea of other characters (the Six? Spider-Man??) just assuming that they're together and when that comes out/when they realize that it makes them reassess their whole relationship and what they're feeling, whether they're startled at first or it's like "...oh, huh, yeah, we're... close" or a mix of the two. And as for the wooing tag, I am absolutely down for this newly confident Doctor Octopus to start pursuing Vulture! Had he been pining for a while and just never had the courage to make a move before? Is it a new feeling for him? Is it a newer feeling for Adrian, or had he been pining and Otto had previously been oblivious/unable to believe anyone would be interested, or had they been mutually pining? Play around with any of that and I'll love it!

  • Character Surprised By Their Own Deep Loyalty Feels; Object Of Loyalty Even More Surprised
  • Gestures of loyalty performed in private
  • implicit trust
  • Loyalty Kink - Risking Self For Someone
  • Loyalty kink: "my/your sword/gun/right hand"
  • Loyalty Kink: Call off your dog
  • Loyalty Kink: Declaring Oneself Someone Else's Weapon
  • Loyalty kink: my subordinate goes where I go
  • Performative Fealty - kneeling/kissing back of hand/deference before others
LOYALTY TAGS. I fuckin love loyalty. And there are a LOT of these so I'll try to keep them all very brief. For some of these, I am happy with either of them being the loyal one in the scenario, and I'm always thrilled by the idea of both of them being equally loyal even if the focus is on one of them! The first four tags could work for either or both (and in fact, "implicit trust" being equal is so good, though the fic focusing on one implicitly trusting the other would also be super good). Vulture is canonically Ock's right hand and in some ways his subordinate, so being his sword/gun/weapon/right hand is super fitting and hot, whichever of them is declaring it so, and "my subordinate goes where I go" from Ock getting Vulture in somewhere could also be very hot. "Call off your dog" is absolutely catnip to me; I interpret this tag as the loyalty between them being called out by a third party, that it's made obvious both that Vulture is being a little too obviously protective and Ock absolutely has the power to tell him to stop and have him listen; there's almost an element of getting caught at something, maybe even an unspoken threat that they know the two mean a lot to each other and that can potentially be used against them (but not necessarily). Vulture acting in the first place on Otto's orders is also acceptable; "call off your dog" being a threat with one of them actually in danger is also very acceptable (happy ending please!). And finally, for performative fealty, well, of course Adrian is an obvious pick for the one performing the gesture(s), but Otto returning his loyalty and dedication in a very purposefully public way is also super hot and sweet!

  • Competence - highly effective teamwork
  • Highly competent characters are even better together
TEAMWORK TAGS. I just find this kind of thing very satisfying and kind of hot tbh. For either of these it could be referring to a lot of stuff -- how they work together on science/tech projects, plotting/planning something out, teamwork doing a crime, working together in a fight! They're both quite good at all of that (even if Doc Ock is, of course, the Master Planner) and I'd love any story that plays with any one or any combo of those things and just shows how damn well they can pull things off as a team, either just with each other or with the Sinister Six as a whole.

  • Falling In Love
  • A just wants someone to love them unconditionally and B will
These are falling in love tags and they're just a little separate from the getting together tags because these ones have unapologetic sappiness built in. Falling in love by itself is just so straightforward; I'd love for a fic that explores the moment(s) one or both of them fell in love with each other! How quick did it happen, or how gradually? What were the circumstances, what nudged them in that direction? As for "A just wants someone to love them unconditionally and B will"... Well, as I said above Vulture is perfectly willing to put his own goals on the backburner in a way that feels very "I am helping this man take over the world because he wants to and he deserves to get whatever he wants, fuck you." And admittedly I think with how Otto was before he became Doctor Octopus he might be the more likely one to want someone to love him unconditionally deep down (and maybe Adrian did even since back then?). But I would also not at all argue with it being the other way around, with Otto loving Adrian unconditionally... (Or maybe that part is mutual!)

  • Finding Someone Sleeping and Putting a Blanket or Coat Over Them
  • Finger kisses in a scene that wasn't sexual up to that point
  • Intimate soft make outs with one character in the other's lap
  • Lingering Touch
These tags are just incredibly sweet and sappy ones that I love and I am not ashamed. If it isn't obvious by now, I adore villains who are sweet to and in love with one another and there being softness and gentleness and warmth between them! For the first, it could be either of them asleep, I absolutely love that sort of gesture whether it's a coat or a blanket. I am also very happy with either giving the finger kisses; what led up to them? Is this totally new for them or are they already together? (This could be mixed with hand-kissing for the "gestures of loyalty performed in private" tag but doesn't need to be...) I don't even mind if the scene does turn sexual after that point; it's very welcome but it could also just turn romantic if you'd prefer! I would love, love, love intimate soft makeouts with Vulture perched (heh) in Ock's lap... And finally, for lingering touch, that could be from either of them or between both of them, could be pining, mutual pining, them being together, I just love the idea that they casually and warmly touch one another in ways they might not other people (Adrian's hand in Otto's hair in that one photo!).

  • Mutual Protectiveness
  • Pining - Mutual admiration
  • Pining - Mutual pining that both characters think is unrequited pining
Mutual feelings! For mutual protectiveness, they could already be established or not and it'd work just as well; I love when two characters who are both fully competent and capable both know the other is as well but both are still protective! For the first pining tag, I love how they both do canonically seem to admire the other's abilities and accomplishments and approach to situations and would love something that leaned into that in a pining way on one or both their parts! (Is it mutual pining mixed with admiration or initially one-sided pining where admiring is part of the pining on the piner's part and also being admired by the person they're pining after feels good too?) And for the final tag, I am a sucker for genius characters being a little blind when it comes to emotional stuff, and I could easily imagine neither of them quite realizing the other might be interested as well...

  • Tentacles - RoboTentacles as a Sex Toy
Finally, well, this tag is just hot. I saw RoboTentacles in there and was like, look, this was made for Doctor Octopus and I'd love tentacle porn with these two! Whether they're used for insertion or not, pinching/grabbing, rubbing, be creative with how they could be used for sex and I will adore it, I love the idea of them doing this kind of thing and both being super into it.

Canon-Specific DNWs

  • any requested character or really any of the Sinister Six being presented as irredeemably crazy/evil
  • any of the requested characters or the Sinister Six in general betraying each other (Shocker not included, he's an Enforcer first and foremost, he was just on loan)
  • Electro being referred to as anything other than Electro by any of the requested characters or any of the Sinister Six
Canon-Specific Likes

  • Vulture being Doctor Octopus's loyal right hand and bodyguard
  • Vulture, Electro, and Tinkerer being Doctor Octopus's most trusted inner circle
  • Vulture and Doctor Octopus having been friends for years before the start of the series
  • Ock/Vulture sex while cellmates?
  • the characters having fun with/enjoying the supervillain team thing
  • Sandman/Rhino is a noncanon background pairing I actually enjoy if it happens to come up (and feel free to include more than one of the ships I requested for this canon in the same fic)
  • generally I like Sinister Six poly even if it's not the focus, actually, if the rest of the Sinister Six are included, I just really want these three to be heavily focused on!
  • NICKNAMES/PET NAMES, and honestly, I count how Otto and Adrian always seem to address each other by their first names; I also love the way Electro always calls Otto "Doc" and seems to call Adrian "Vulch" and they are both totally open to being called those things from him!
  • if you're interested, I like trans headcanons for either/both of these characters; for both of them I'm happy with anything, nonbinary or trans man or trans woman. trans headcanons for any other Sinister Six if they show up are also 100% good; I would prefer Electro as a trans woman or nonbinary if you write that character as trans, but anything goes for all the rest of them! and of course trans headcanons aren't obligatory!

The Spectacular Spider-Man (Cartoon)
Phineas Mason/Quentin Beck

[Where you can find the series: Here!
Most Pertinent Episodes:
For the two together - S1E10 (Persona); S2E1 (Blueprints); S2E3 (Reinforcement)
For Phineas - S2E4 (Shear Strength); S2E9 (Probable Cause) (scene at the beginning)
For Quentin - S2E12 (Opening Night) (admittedly just for the robot reveal tbh)]

THESE TWO MAKE ME HAPPY. When we're first introduced to them they're the kinda grouchy-seeming professionals working with Chameleon and playing a dumb card-flicking game in "bisexuals can't sit normally" fashion while they wait. They're basically Chameleon's backup in that episode, and you don't get to see fully what they're like until the second season, but I really like the juxtaposition of how they are in this episode as compared to later ones! (Personally, I feel as if neither of them had their supervillain identities at all until somewhere between "Persona" and "Blueprints" when the Master Planner hired them. I also feel that they'd been working together for at least a little while before their introductory episode, though who was the first to work with who, out of the three of them, and for how long, is totally up to you. Also up to you whether they usually call each other by first name or last name, and how often they call each other by supervillain name nowadays!)

Quentin Beck used to be a special effects technician before leaving for his life of crime, and he's got a very interesting balance between his real self and the Mysterio act that I find really fun! He's a professional and Mysterio is an overly-theatrical fuckin dork, but Quentin is also deep down (and not so deep down) a theatrical dork. I can imagine that Quentin puts some of the things he wants to be into Mysterio, because that's common for supervillains and superheroes both, but Mysterio is also a role he plays for a specific purpose: misdirection, keeping people focused on him rather than his tricks or the crimes his act is distracting away from! That said, he got hired to be Mysterio for the thefts and then just decided that was fun as hell and absolutely wanted to do from then on, so there's also that element to him. I feel like he's also enjoying getting to be center stage as Mysterio in a way he doesn't get to be on jobs with Chameleon. Phineas Mason, on the other hand, is an inventor who rolls his eyes at "actors" being theatrical but is absolutely theatrical himself even if he won't admit it. I don't think he's an actor, not in the way that Chameleon and Quentin are; he was wayyy in the background in "Persona" in non-speaking roles whenever his presence was necessary out in the field, and he seems to prefer to stay back and provide "technical support" and make things for other people to use. But he obviously has fun leaning into the mad scientist supervillain act at least a little ("allow me to introduce our host and benefactor"; "welcome to your lair, Master Planner"; "all that remains is calibration... and testing") and occasionally amuses himself making dorky jokes ("put even more 'ric' in your 'ochet'"). I also imagine he has no criminal record (the arrest at the end of "Persona" didn't seem to stick and one of the cops did say in the first episode that the people Spider-Man apprehends nearly always walk...) and is staying in the background to avoid getting one for as long as possible, because him being able to work within the law is really convenient for them.

Basically, though, I love the dynamic of two characters who are just doing this shit because they love it, who've been working together a while and are developing supervillain personas kind of simultaneously mostly for the fun of it. I have a feeling Tinkerer made most of the robots and tech that Mysterio uses, though Quentin himself also contributed the "will-weaking" gas and the mask and makeup for his own android. (Which also means that the reason Quentin is just never arrested after "Persona" and it's always a goddamn android is thanks to Phineas, which makes me smile.) Phineas might not even charge him for that stuff! Just in general they're basically married and I love that.

Requested Tags

  • "Casual" Sex Turning Tender
  • Character in casual arrangement realizes they don't consider themself single
  • Characters With Benefits Who’ve Never Kissed; When They Do It’s a Line Crossing Intimate Moment
These are the tags where everything is, uh, "casual," no really. I love this kind of thing, it is very good to me. For the first one, "casual" I think implies that feelings already started creeping in there for at least one and maybe both of them and they know it (or at least each know how they feel if not how the other does); did it start out actually casual, did one or both of them know they'd be terrible at keeping things casual but were that much into the other already so went for it anyway? A tender moment being when everything changes for them is just catnip for me. The second tag feels more like both of them actually did up to that point think of it as casual, or at least the viewpoint character really meant for it to be even if the other was secretly pining. I am good for both of them just starting to realize things, for this being the moment of realizing for the non-pining one in a previously one-sided-pining situation, or for this being the start of pining from the viewpoint character and it taking a bit for the other to catch up! Finally, for the last tag, again this could involve mutual pining from the start or a situation where one had been pining before the other caught feelings or a situation where this is the moment of realization for them both, but I also love these two as FWB who mess around sometimes, fuck sometimes, but when they kiss it abruptly tips over into something else...

  • Accidental Marriage - Married to Each Other While Undercover Becomes Legally Binding
  • Getting Married So You Can't Testify Against Each Other in Court
  • over the top but heartfelt proposal
  • A plans to propose to B and everything goes wrong but B says yes anyway
MARRIAGE TAGS. Okay I will admit I absolutely love marriage stuff for these two, I am a huge sap for them. Accidentally married because they get married while undercover (as fiancés?) but then whoops somehow turns out they are legally married now? That could be a great get-together story and/or involve pining (mutual or not)! As for "Getting Married So You Can't Testify Against Each Other in Court," well, for these two I love scenarios where they agree to get married for totally practical reasons (maybe even other things as well like hospital visituation and conjugal visits!) but are also very in love and happy to be getting married, because they're weirdos. But I also am super into the idea of these two getting married for fully practical reasons and then falling headfirst into feelings, maybe even starting at the damn ceremony. Brilliant plan, gentlemen! (Just as a note, I honestly like the idea that Phineas is used to and good at making the law work for him -- I like to think he legally owned the broken down hair salon, the prop warehouse, and even the big business building that "the Master Planner" built an underwater lair attached to -- so it might have been his idea initially, but you don't have to go with that.) And finally, over-the-top and/or disastrous proposals... That really feels like Beck's style tbqh, but I could also totally buy Mason trying something like that specifically because he knows Beck would like it, so go nuts with either!

  • Adrenaline High Kisses After Surviving A Car Chase
  • Kissing - Adrenaline Fueled Make-out
  • Kissing their collarbone through their shirt
KISSING. I love reading about a good kiss and these tags are all about kissing. In any of the tags I do not at all mind who kisses who or if they both go for it or what; for the first two tags I don't mind if they're already together or if this is the culmination of feelings and they just finally are kissing because of adrenaline after some dangerous situation. I feel like they both enjoy the adrenaline rush of situations like that, even if Mason maybe wouldn't always admit to it. Finally, that last tag is just attractive. Whether they're in an established relationship or it's part of a get-together fic, whether jackets/coats are in play or just shirts, through Mysterio's costume is also fine. Go for it, and whatever tag you choose, describe any kissing as much as you like, I'll love it!

  • Bed Sharing Justified As It Just Being Practical
  • Character A Doesn't Realize How Much Power They Have Over Character B
  • Forced Proximity - THERE WAS ONLY ONE BED
  • Pining - Character pines for someone who thinks nothing of undressing casually in front of them
  • Pining - Mutual pining that both characters think is unrequited pining
  • Pining - Unwilling to admit pining for fear of ruining existing relationship
  • Pining while in a sexual relationship
  • Sharing a bed while mutually pining
These are the pining/maybe in denial tags and I am honestly a huge sucker for that with these two? There are enough tags here that I'll try to keep talk about each individual one short; for any tag, if it's not mutual pining I don't mind who the one pining is, I do have a slight preference for Mason pining but Beck would also be amazing so don't hesitate! For the three bedsharing tags, I'd be happy with mutual pining for any of them but it doesn't need to be; for the first two bedsharing tags one character might be pining beforehand while the other isn't (yet), and/or it might be something that's a step up from their usual intimacy just enough that feelings start right there for one or both of them! I love the "A doesn't realize how much power they have over B" tag, it's amazing, is A totally oblivious to B's feelings or does he have a vague idea but doesn't realize how strongly B feels at first? For the undressing tag, well, Beck is especially a theater kid and probably doesn't think anything of it, but maybe he does because it's Mason so it could also work either way. Is the other party not pining and thinks nothing of it, is the other party pining but still thinks nothing of that specific act/scenario, or is the other party trying to flirt and doesn't realize the person pining is trying not to react due to pining? I am a sucker for mutual pining that they both think is unrequited when both characters are kinda brilliant, and maybe even know each other super well, but in just in this one area they're clueless -- especially if you can give them believable reasons for it, like Beck being a generally flirty person, Mason being a surprisingly good actor, or both having a different love language (just as examples; feel free to go with something else.) Finally, for being unwilling to admit to pining for fear of ruining their relationship... I could love if the logic is not wanting to ruin close friendship and/or not wanting to ruin how well they work together/make their teamwork awkward, and I don't mind if it's mutual pining or just one of them at first!

  • bickering like an old married couple
  • Character A Was Possessed And Character B Was The Only One To Notice
  • Character scolded by loved one for endangering themself
These are just tags that lean into these two being incredibly close whether or not they even realize how close! They do seem to bicker and Mason at least does seem to scold Beck for doing what he thinks are careless/reckless/dumb things, so those two tags are super easy for me to imagine; are they actually together, do either or both have feelings, is this a moment of realization for either of them, for "bickering like an old married couple" does someone else call out that they act married and for the scolding does someone say anything about it and it makes them think? Finally... I am just a total sucker for the middle tag, tbh. Two characters who know each other so damn well that when one is not themself, no matter how good the fake is at acting and fooling literally everyone else, the other can just tell that it's not them? If it's Mason who notices that Beck is possessed, you could even play with the idea that he's very used to telling when he's speaking to Beck or a Mysteriobot, but that's not necessary, I just like the thought!

  • Breeding Kink - as dirty talk without risk
  • Fucking Machines
  • Roleplay - A Holds Of On The Sexy Part "Out Of Professionalism" - B Is Frustrated But Into It
  • Taking advantage of masquerade ball to role-play sex with a stranger with love interest
  • Yanking head back by the hair
These are just the smut tags and if you want to write me a fic that includes smut, or a fic that's straight-up PWP, both would be yes. I have a slight preference for Mason subbing if there are any D/s vibes, with a few exceptions, but that preference is slight and I will find it very hot either way tbh. And I am always down for porn, whether it uses one of these prompts specifically and/or my general porn likes! I am super into breeding kink, whether it uses the word "breed" or talks about knocking up or getting pregnant, when it's literally impossible for the people involved to ever get pregnant. With fucking machines, that's one of the prompts where I have no preference, and either or both could be using (a) machine(s), but you know it's probably one that Mason created. For the roleplay one, I could most easily see Beck being A because he's a damn dramatic actor, but admittedly Mason is also more theatrical than he admits so that to could work either way. The masquerade ball idea is just great and I always love the idea that these two are into roleplaying stranger sex, tbh, given Mysterio's costume, and this has a nice twist; are they there to enjoy themselves or are they messing around before (or after?) waiting to do a crime (either alone, with Chameleon, or with the Six)? And finally... yanking head back by the hair is one of the ones where my preference slightly goes the other way, because I actually really like Beck's hair even with the bowl cut and it deserves to get touched and pet and yanked a lot, but I am also very happy for the reverse! Whoever it's happening to (maybe both?), is it while fucking (pulls head back by hair while he's on his hands and knees?) or while the person whose hair is being yanked is giving a blowjob?

  • Can't stop thinking about it - other characters assumed they were dating
  • Courtship/Wooing
  • Getting Together - But Involving an Elaborate Seduction Plot
  • Roommates/Housemates - unexpected shared domesticity leads to feelings
While a lot of the other tags could be included in get-together fics, these are the four tags that IMO require a get-together story and I ADORE them! I just love a scenario where some other characters (the rest of the Six? Spider-Man? Chameleon?) just casually say something that makes it clear they assume those two are a thing and then one or both of them is just totally unable to stop thinking about that because it completely shifted their perspective. I just love courtship/wooing in general and between these two; which of them is doing it, or is it a more mutual thing? An elaborate seduction plot (or "increasingly elaborate seduction attempts" if you'd prefer)... well, that one definitely seems like a Quentin Beck tag, let's be real here. What kind of plot(s) would that even entail? And finally, the roommates/housemates thing: Does this take place pre-canon while they were working with Chameleon, or maybe even beforehand if you go with them working together before they started working with Chameleon? Or does it happen when they separate from Chameleon in canon (or post-New Year's) and it's suddenly the two of them?

  • Casual Nonsexual Crossdressing
  • Character A Picks Clothes out for B
  • Crossdressing - Character A is extremely into Character B crossdressing
  • Crossdressing to escape danger
  • Looking pretty damn hot in a scruffy jumper/sweater
  • Sharing Clothes - A feels surge of affection or attraction at seeing B wearing A's own clothes
  • Shirtsleeves rolled up to elbows
  • Strip Poker
  • Sudden Realization - One character wearing the other's clothes leads to feelings realisation
  • That exhausted moment late in the evening when the necktie is undone and the sleeves rolled up
These are the clothing-related tags and damn there are a lot of them! I'll keep each one brief. For the crossdressing tags, they do disguises a lot but I don't mind if it's part of a disguise or not for the first two! For it being to escape danger it probably is; it'd probably be Beck in that circumstance. For the more casual and sexual ones, it could be either or both and I'd be very happy. For A picking clothes out for B, I kind of imagine Beck is basically costume department for Chameleon and Mason, but if it's the other way around that's good too! Again, this could be for disguise, or I'd also love if they're so used to one doing costuming for disguises that they kind of slowly shift to Character A dressing B up in more general circumstances and both of them enjoying it even if they hadn't initially meant it as a kink thing... Or of course it could just be a kink thing. I think either or both could look hot in a scruffy sweater. (Mason's always wearing turtlenecks anyway, so maybe he's in a scruffier one to work on some invention, or maybe Beck is dressing down?) I love clothes sharing and someone loving to see the other person in their clothes; I don't care who is A and who is B; is this the first time he's seen B in his clothes, is it not the first time but the first time he's had that feeling, is this a feelings realization (in the case of the second tag) or a part of pining or are they already together? Shirtsleeves rolled up could work for either of them; for the last tag, sleeves rolled up and necktie undone would probably be Beck, who seems to wear a suit when out of costume at least sometimes. Finally, strip poker... I admit I love this tag solely because of that dumb little card-throwing game they're playing when we first see them. Do they often play card games? They could be playing with other people or not so long as the fic's attention is on them (and their attention is on each other); again, is this start of feelings/attraction or is pining involved or are they together?

  • character draws negative attention onto themselves to protect another
  • Competence - highly effective teamwork
  • Competence Kink
  • Fighting - One character gets off on watching the other one fight
  • Highly competent characters are even better together
  • implicit trust
  • A Is Kidnapped and B Will Burn Down the World to Get A Back Safely
  • Loyalty Kink - Risking Self For Someone
  • Pre-Canon - What sort of adventures did the character(s) go on before canon?
  • Undercover - Breaking Cover to Protect Partner
  • Undercover - Forced to hurt friend/loved one to keep cover
These are the loyalty and teamwork tags, which I ADORE for these two. Adore. Again trying to keep each individual tag brief: Mysterio actually seems to consider it part of his role to draw negative attention onto himself to distract from other people (when he appears between Spider-Man and Kraven!) so he could very easily do the same for Tinkerer, but with feelings involved I could also super see Mason drawing attention to himself to help Beck in an emergency, and I'd LOVE the feelings in that to be explored! For the first and third competence tags I would LOVE to see how well these two work together and how their genius and their skills (whether it's just that Mason is mechanical and Beck does chemistry, or because Mysterio is showy while Tinkerer is backstage and they're both clever) are both in different areas but mesh super well together; for the second competence tag I could love that or love one of them (or both of them) really appreciating how good the other is at what he does. For the fighting tag... Well, I mean, Mysterio is the one who fights and I honestly love the idea that Tinkerer likes watching people use the tech he makes anyway... For "implicit trust" I would be equally happy with either implicitly trusting the other in a situation, and/or for that trust to be equal between them. For the kidnapping prompt, with these two I really do love the idea that either of them would burn down the world for the other, and I don't mind which is in danger. For the loyalty kink prompt, again, I don't mind who risks for the other because I could see either doing it, and I don't mind what the stakes are -- anything from arrest to death (though of course I want both to live!). For the pre-canon prompt, I would love to see case fic that's also ship fic! What did their pre-canon jobs with Chameleon look like, or if they were working together before they teamed up with Chameleon, what did that look like? Finally, the two undercover prompts are almost opposites: For the first, what might be threatened to make one of them break cover for the other on even an important undercover job where they're both professionals? Is the other relieved or alarmed or both? And for the second, I'd love it to lead to some good H/C where the hurt one completely understands and forgives the other for having to keep cover! (And in either case, again, I don't mind which is which!)

  • Characters stuck in fake reality keep developing feelings for each other & realizing reality is fake
  • Lotus Eater Machine- Dreamer didn't know what they wanted until they were given their perfect life
  • Trapped In Dream World That Includes Relationship They Don't Believe They Can Ever Really Have
This set of tags all go together because of one shared thread, imo, and that is that at least one character is in a reality that isn't real. I am super into variations on this idea for these two! For the first, I love the two of them falling in love repeatedly, maybe because they were already heading towards that before the fake reality thing happened or maybe because the fake reality's circumstances are just different enough that it sparks something they might not have noticed otherwise, and then realizing, and then it apparently being reset? For the lotus eater machine, I really love the idea of one of them being given their perfect ideal life and it involves being with the other, and neither of them really realized that beforehand, and maybe the other even comes into the machine to rescue them and they both have an "...oh" moment? And finally, the dream world thing could involve elements of either of the other, and might involve some pre-dream pining (either initially one-sided or mutual!)... Are they both caught in the dream and neither of them really thought they could have this before, or is one trapped in the dream like the lotus eater machine tag and maybe the other one tries to rescue them and realizes? For all of these, of course I eventually want for them to get back to reality/out of the machine/out of the dream and end up together!

  • Fake dating between roommates so they don't get evicted; ends up falling for each other
  • A has amnesia and forgets everything but B
These two are sort of... "scenario" tags. The first could easily be AU and might work best that way, but I do not at all mind you just setting it pre-canon; is this how they met back before they knew Chameleon, maybe? I love fake dating stuff, especially for these two, so just lean into it and be as tropey as you like and I will adore it! And as for the amnesia plot... I had actually somehow never thought of the scenario of one half of the ship forgetting everything except the other half, and I just absolutely love this idea, holy crap. I do want the amnesia to be temporary, but B just being too important to A to be forgotten is such catnip to me, and it could work so well for established relationship or get-together fic, either with pining already there or not, formerly-one-sided or mutual, whatever! I do not mind which one of them is A or which one of them is B, I could love it either way.

  • Finding Someone Sleeping and Putting a Blanket or Coat Over Them
  • Gifts as a sign of love
  • Grand Romantic Gesture - Gone Hilariously Wrong But Sentiment Is Appreciated
  • Hair washing as part of intimacy/sex
  • intimate conversations in cars that lead to intimate makeouts
  • Intimate soft make outs with one character in the other's lap
  • Lingering Touch
  • Love Languages - Lost In Translation - Characters Misunderstand Each Other's Shows Of Affection
  • That Time of Night So Late It's Early Again (And the Liminal Conversations Had At This Hour)
A bunch of soft and intimate tags, which I really love for these... honestly pretty Villain Lite characters. I'll try to keep each brief. For the first, it could be either of them asleep, I absolutely love that sort of gesture whether it's a coat or a blanket; have either of them been overworking, maybe? For gifts as a sign of love, I can imagine giving people things (especially that he made himself) being a love language for Mason, so it could work for him or for Beck if Beck catches on that it's a way he shows he cares! For a grand romantic gesture... I mean, like the similar marriage tags, I feel like that's a very Beck thing, but I could also see Mason trying it solely because he knows it is a thing Beck enjoys. I adore hair washing, it's so intimate and affectionate, and I honestly do love Beck's hair even with the bowl cut, and I would love Beck washing Mason's hair too, so it works both ways. For intimate conversations in cars that lead to intimate makeouts -- hell, also with the makeouts with one in the other's lap, honestly -- are they together or have they been flirting/pining/otherwise leading up to this or is it spur-of-the-moment? With lingering touch, that could be from either of them or between both of them, could be pining, mutual pining, them already being together, affectionate or longing or almost casual, I just love the idea that they casually and warmly touch one another in ways they might not other people. With love languages, I could actually easily see this being a mutual pining situation where they aren't aware it's mutual because they can't quite read the other's shows of affection! And finally, early morning liminal conversations where neither of them have slept yet and maybe they're also in a liminal place? I am so into that. Lean into the intimacy and slight unreality elements of it and I'll love it.

  • Gay male character in setting w/o gay marriage thinks of/refers to his long-term partner as his man
  • Gay male long-term partners in setting w/o gay marriage: 3rd party refers to one as the other's man
Okay, these are close to the same tag, but seriously. I love this. I hadn't thought about it before but it's a super iddy idea to me! Since SSM takes place in 2008-2009, and gay marriage was only legal in like 2-3 states at that point, New York not being one of them. Whether it's one of them or a third party referring to the other as his man, there is just something so casual but placing so much importance on their relationship simultaneously, and that gets to me. I also wouldn't be at all opposed to "your boy" or "my/your husband," but something about "my/your man" just hits different. (I don't mind which does the referring or is being referred to in either case! Or both!)

  • Hurt/Comfort - Helping a character improvise an arm/shoulder sling
  • Hurt/Comfort - Helping a character on with shirt/jacket as they have an arm or shoulder injury
  • Hurt/Comfort - Hurt/comfort while undercover
  • Hurt/Comfort - Lending clothes to sick/hurt character
  • Hurt/Comfort - One character comforts another after a nightmare
  • Hurt/Comfort - Taking off a sick character's glasses
  • Hurt/Comfort - Tending injuries
  • Hurt/Comfort - Wound care given while character is close to passing out
The hurt/comfort tags! And there are a lot of them; I love this trope so much. I'll try to keep each brief; in any of these cases except one or two that I will note, I don't have even a slight preference about if Mason is hurting, if Beck is, or if both of them are! If going with sickness for a tag, I'm down for any sickness that is not terminal or COVID. For the arm/shoulder injuries one, it would make the most sense if only one of them has that sort of injury even if both are hurt; I love improvising medical things in a situation where they can't get the real thing, and I love helping people dress, so both of those are wonderful. H/C while undercover works super well for them; is this on a Chameleon mission, on a Sinister Six one, or just while they're lying low? I love clothes sharing for literally any reason and I do love just one of them being hurt/sick for this one. One comforting another after a nightmare is one of the ONLY prompts where I have a slight preference, and that's only because I could easily imagine Mason having nightmares after what happened on New Year's Eve; I am down for it being nightmares about anything else, though, and either or both of them having them! Taking off a sick character's glasses the other where I have a preference, because Mason wears glasses and I can't get that mental image out of my head and it's so sweet, I love it. And for the final two tags, again, I don't mind if it's either or both of them hurt, if one is tending the other's injuries or they're mutually doing so, and if it's when they've gotten back to base/home or if they're still in dangerous/tense territory. I also don't mind if "wound care given while character is close to passing out" means that the person being cared for is close to passing out, or the character giving the care is close to passing out himself!

  • A is hit on by someone pushy; B steps in as A's fake significant other; fake to real pipeline
  • Undercover - Posing as married in the suburbs
  • Undercover - Undercover as a Couple brings out Feelings
  • Undercover - Undercover as a Couple Leads to Mutual Feelings
Look, I could not resist more fake relationship tags for these two, okay? It's just such a perfect trope for them! For the first tag, the only not-undercover one, I don't mind which of them is A or B, and I don't mind if either or both were pining beforehand or not, or if any feelings develop after. This could be how they met and I wouldn't mind that at all, but I could really love B (whichever of them it is) stepping in and A playing along without thinking much about it because they're just both so used to undercover situations where they're both playing roles, so in those first moments it just feels like a casual and normal way to deal with the situation. As for the undercover ones... Feel free to play as much as you want with their reasons for being undercover, what crime they're going for, if they're working with Chameleon or the Six or just with each other; you can do as much with the plot as you like or mostly sideline it to focus on the fake relationship! "Brings out feelings" feels different from "leads to mutual feelings" because the first makes it feel like both had feelings beforehand while the second sounds like one or both of them hadn't had feelings yet... Posing as married in the suburbs could be either, or maybe they actually are together but the fake married element still stirs them up? Maybe they realize that even if they don't want to settle down in the suburbs, they'd actually like the married part?

Canon-Specific DNWs

  • any requested character or really any of the Sinister Six being presented as irredeemably crazy/evil
  • any of the requested characters or the Sinister Six in general betraying each other (Shocker not included, he's an Enforcer first and foremost, he was just on loan)
  • Electro being referred to as anything other than Electro by any of the requested characters or any of the Sinister Six
Canon-Specific Likes

  • the Mysteriobots and Tinkerer's inventions in general being pervertable
  • having fun with costuming and maybe makeup (kinky or just enjoying slipping into new roles)
  • dorky roleplaying with Mysterio and Tinkerer (especially Mysterio)
  • the characters having fun with the supervillain/criminal team thing
  • noncanon background pairings I actually enjoy if they happen to come up: Doctor Octopus/Vulture(/Electro), Sandman/Rhino
  • generally I like Sinister Six poly even if it's not the focus, actually, if the Sinister Six are included
  • nicknames! pet names! I count Chameleon's habit of referring to literally everyone by surname as this tbh, I like that he calls these two Beck and Mason, and that they call him Chameleon as that seems to be how he wants to be known. I like Electro's habit of calling Doctor Octopus "Doc" and Vulture "Vulch"; if he shows up in the fic, maybe he calls them "Mysty" and/or "Tink"? (If so I'd rather they like it than hate it.) I would love them calling each other endearments, them calling each other by surname as well but it still being intimate, them calling each other by supervillain name (teasingly? flirtatiously?), them calling each other by their first names or even Quentin calling Phineas "Phin" is fine. I love any type of this shit.
  • any type of h/c stuff is great but if you want to set anything after that bit in "Shear Strength" with the car accident and psychological torture, I would love to see Phineas get rescued, helped, comforted after that; feel free to go with other h/c scenarios though, they are ALL excellent, any type of job or situation going wrong and one or both getting hurt or put in danger!
  • if you're interested, I like trans headcanons for either/both of these characters! I like the idea of Phineas as a trans man (though nonbinary or trans woman are acceptable), and I could see Quentin as anything really, and if Chameleon is included I especially like nonbinary for him. trans headcanons for any other Sinister Six if they show up are also 100% good; I would prefer Electro as a trans woman or nonbinary if you write that character as trans, but anything goes for all the rest of them! and of course trans headcanons aren't obligatory!

The Spectacular Spider-Man (Cartoon)
Chameleon/Phineas Mason/Quentin Beck

[Where you can find the series: Here!
Most Pertinent Episodes:
For all three together - S1E10 (Persona)
For Quentin and Phineas together - S2E1 (Blueprints); S2E3 (Reinforcement)
For Phineas - S2E4 (Shear Strength); S2E9 (Probable Cause) (scene at the beginning)
For Quentin - S2E12 (Opening Night) (admittedly just for the robot reveal tbh)
For Chameleon - S2E13 (Final Curtain)]

SAME AS THE SECTION ABOVE WITH QUENTIN AND PHINEAS, but now Chameleon is added to the mix and I love this additional element with both of them! IMO it was absolutely brilliant for The Spectacular Spider-Man to introduce these three as a team working together; Mysterio might have hired the Chameleon once in the comics, but otherwise none of them really teamed up, but it works perfectly! The person who can disguise himself as anyone, the special effects expert, and the inventor/technological expert have a lot to offer each other, and I love that they seem to usually hire themselves out to steal shit for the rich and powerful.

Chameleon is a fascinating character to me, both in and of himself and in the dynamic with these two. He's a professional who can have a no-nonsense sort of response to things (seeing his phone call with the person who hired them to steal the symbiote, and his "I did not sign on for this" response in the finale), but who also has a mischievous sense of humor and is absolutely theatrical especially when inhabiting a role (his Spider-Man impression was really funny to me). He has his own life and isn't always working with Beck and Phineas, but given the way he talked in "Persona" I get the strong impression Beck makes his disguises, including the face masks, so I imagine they at least keep in touch often. I also feel like the three of them worked together for at least a few years before we meet them in canon, which is a dynamic I love; they'd all be very used to each other! And I enjoy the idea that when they do jobs together they split the take rather than Beck or Phineas charging Chameleon (or each other) or anything... As well as really liking the idea that even being incredibly close with the two of them it's just Chameleon's habit to call even people he loves by their surnames. I also also like how "Mason" and "Beck"'s names are first given while Chameleon is requesting their help and simultaneously praising their skills! And I just in general really love the idea of a team of criminals who work great together and highly respect one another's skills and are also all in love. (Though I also don't mind if it's a poly V so long as the center of the V is Quentin or Phineas, not Chameleon.)

I'm also fascinated by Chameleon in the sense of like... Outside of Chameleon, who is often pretending to be other people, who is he? Does he even have a legal identity outside of Chameleon, or has he erased it? Feel free to use the name Dmitri Smerdyakov for him (though I prefer he not be related to Kraven in this universe), but if you wanted to solely stick with Chameleon for him or give him a fake name like, idk, Leon Smirnov (the most common surname in Russia, basically like giving him the surname Smith) or w/e that he goes by now when necessary that is obviously not his birth name, go nuts.

  • A is forced to watch their partners have sex and isn't allowed to join (at first?)
  • Voice Kink: A Gets Off on Hearing B Narrate What C Is Doing to Them
Starting out with just all the threesome smut tags! I am seriously into all these and will try to keep my explanations/prompts brief; for some tags I have a preference for who's who and for some I don't at all. For the first tag, the edging one, I do prefer Chameleon to be either A or B and don't have a preference for the other. For the spitroasting tag, I would actually rather Beck and Mason be A and B! (I think it's the focus on their sexual tension... that then gets resolved?) With the pegging fic, you can have them pegging for literally any reason (genderswap, trans, casually cuntboys, they just want to wear strap-ons even with dicks, any combination of those) and my first thought was Chameleon as A but I don't actually care who's who. For the come as lube tag... I actually don't even mind if this isn't threesome sex but instead one of the characters going to have sex with another after having sex with the third; if you do things that way I'd prefer Chameleon to be C and for Beck and Mason to not be together yet, but if it's a threesome I don't care who's who. For the licking up come tag, I again don't care who's who except if one of them is "made" to do it instead of choosing to I'd like them to want to anyway rather than actually being forced. For dom/sub/sub I see Chameleon as being more of a dom than the other two. With A being forced to watch their partners having sex I have a slight preference for A being Mason, and if not Mason then Beck. (Maybe whoever it is is even recording with something like those photo-taking goggles Mason used in "Persona"?) And finally, voice kink could even be combined with the former prompt, but absolutely doesn't need to be! I don't care who's who in this one, and I don't care if they're in the same room or talking on the phone or over headset, I just find that tag super hot however you do it!

  • Accidental Baby Acquisition
And this one's just a single fun tag, but I really enjoy it! As long as the focus is on these two, I could like it being just these two, these two and Chameleon, or these two and the Sinister Six in general. I'd love to see how they find the baby, what the circumstances are, how they end up keeping it (or for how long). How good are they with kids? What are either of them like with a baby? How do they take care of the baby and do they just adjust to crime but also with a baby now or does it sorta tip them towards retiring from that? I get the impression that unlike his comics counterpart, Mason wasn't married and never had kids, but maybe he has experience with babies in other ways, like siblings or niblings or cousins? Does Beck have any experience himself?

  • Adrenaline High Kisses After Surviving A Car Chase
  • Character is Arrested and/or Interrogated by Law Enforcement
  • Competence - highly effective teamwork
  • Competence Kink
  • Highly competent characters are even better together
  • A Is Kidnapped and B Will Burn Down the World to Get A Back Safely While C Has to Be the Sane One
  • Pre-Canon - What sort of adventures did the character(s) go on before canon?
  • Sick/Hurt Character Still Has To Get Their Job Done
I think of these as "shit going down" tags, the characters working together in what might even be canon-typical plots! Though I don't mind if the plots themselves are lovingly gone into or skimmed over, heh. With car chases, Mason seems to be the designated getaway driver for their team; were they being chased by police or other enemies? Who kisses who first? Are they all established, are two of them established, were they not together before; is this abrupt and surprising for any/all of them? For the arrest/interrogation one, which one (or two?) are arrested, and how do the other one(s) get them out of that situation? (Does Chameleon disguise himself, does Beck, does Mason shut down security cameras or power or use holograms or the like?) For competence in teamwork and "highly competent characters are even better together," I love how brilliant these three are at what they do and how all their skills complement each other, both out on a job and during preparations; for competence kink I could love that and could also love any of them really loving to watch the other(s) work. For the kidnapping one, I would love for Chameleon to be C while I don't mind who's who for A and B! (Chameleon does seem the calmest...) For the pre-canon prompt, I would love to see case fic that's also ship fic; what did their jobs back then look like, either at the start or closer to the beginning of the show? And finally, for "Sick/Hurt Character Still Has To Get Their Job Done"... I won't lie, my first thought was one of them being sick/hurt and all three of them know they still need to do the job so the other two step up and are competent as hell working hard to support the sick/hurt character and make certain he can get his job done as smoothly as possible. And I love that so much.

  • Agonisingly slow build-up of sexual tension; result of explosive sex optional
  • Bed Sharing Justified As It Just Being Practical
  • Character in casual arrangement realizes they don't consider themself single
  • Roommates/Housemates - unexpected shared domesticity leads to feelings
  • Sharing a bed while mutually pining
The very tropey and occasionally slow-burn tags! I am so here for these. For the agonizingly slow build-up of sexual tension, the result of explosive sex is completely optional but would be loved! And I don't mind if time is skimmed or skipped around in, or handwaved, to make it take longer or if the agonizingly slow build-up is actually agonizingly slow for over the course of a single scene... For both bed sharing tags, I could love it being a "there was only one bed" situation or for them to just choose to share a bed when it's not strictly necessary for whatever reason, and I could enoy it whether none of them are together yet or if two of them are a thing but the third isn't part of it yet! For the first of the two tags, maybe it's not a mutual (all three?) pining situation but instead a realization of feelings for one, two, or all three of them? For the casual arrangement tag, maybe all three of them are casual, one or two or all of them realize they don't consider themselves single... or maybe two of them are together and all three of them fuck around casually but the third realizes he does feel like a part of the relationship and/or one or both of the other two realize they think of him as such? And finally, for the roommates/housemates one, this could take place pre-canon when they first all start working together, or maybe they didn't regularly stay together while working together and post-canon they actually do decide to live together for a bit for whatever reason and it's startlingly different? (Again, two of them could already be romantically involved and bring in the third, or this could be all three of them getting together!)

  • All Characters In The Relationship Are Trans
Okay, this is just a scenario that could be mixed with basically any other tag on this list or just be combined with any of my general likes and I'd be happy! I have a little bit on trans headcanons down in my canon-specific likes section, but to place it clearly here: I like the idea of Mason as a trans man (though nonbinary or trans woman are acceptable), and I could see Beck as anything really, and I especially like nonbinary for Chameleon.

  • Amused Character in Open Relationship Encourages Partner to Make a Move on Their Crush Already
  • C pines for A&B; doesn't know established A/B are pining for C too
  • Characters A and C brought together by shared love for B
  • love triangle solved by polyamory
  • Polyamory - Character in v-shaped relationship gets their lovers together
A lot of the other tags could easily be get-together fics, and some of them are geared well towards that, but these are the ones that are straight-up 100% "poly get-together" tags! And I love them. For the ones where there's an already established relationship, I kind of prefer for it to be either Chameleon/Beck and or Chameleon/Mason (or both?) and involve bringing in the other as the third/bringing the other two together, especially for some. For the first tag, I can absolutely see Chameleon being the amused one anyway, so that really works! I don't mind if Chameleon is just with one of them or is with both of them; you could have him encouraging one or both of them as well! For C pining for A&B who are together and pining back, I am good with any of them being A, B, and C, though. I really do love the idea of Beck and Mason both loving Chameleon at first and then getting together themselves, which could work for the "A and C brought together" tag or for the "love triangle solved by polyamory" tag, and I do prefer the latter tag to be Beck and Mason both in love with Chameleon if it's a V-shaped triangle. If it's a true love triangle, I don't mind who's in love with which at the start! And finally, for the last tag, I again really love the idea of Chameleon as the center of the V; maybe he was even with both of them before he even brought them together for a job for the first time and then saw chemistry there/saw chemistry grow?

  • bets & wagers but make it sexy ;)
  • Strip Poker
Look, I just love that when they were first introduced in Chameleon's intro ep, Beck and Mason were sitting around playing that dumb card-flinging game. I like the idea that these three do play games, though bets & wagers might not have to do with that... It can if you like! As long as they're all on board it could be about anything and I would be so down. And of course strip poker is straightforward; it could be just these three involved or involve more people so long as the fic's focus is on these three (and these three are focusing on each other). For either tag, are they already all together, are two together but not the third, or are none of them together yet? In the latter two instances, does this lead to a realization for any of them, have any of them been pining for a while? Or is it all just flirtation and appreciation?

  • Casual Nonsexual Crossdressing
  • Char. wears a suit - oh no they're hot; then they get hurt & disheveled - oh no they're even hotter
  • Intimacy - Sharing Clothes
These are the clothing tags and I looove good clothing descriptions and tropes! For crossdressing, is it 100% casual, just something they like to do, or is it a disguise for a job (probably Chameleon and/or Beck in that case). Are they wearing a suit as part of a job, because they wanted to dress up fancy, or just casually? What happens to get them hurt and disheveled? And is clothes sharing because of them swapping parts of their outfits to sort of throw people off their trail or is it just casual; are any/all of them together and/or is this a kind of careless intimacy? In any of these cases, it can be any one of them in the clothes in question, any two of them, or all three of them, and if any of them get hurt it can be one, two, or all of them. And the crossdressing tag is the only one I'd rather not be combined with trans headcanons unless the crossdressing helps whoever is doing so realize they're trans.

  • Established Relationship - The Inherent Romance And Eroticism Of Being Known
  • Gifts as a sign of love
  • Group Marriage
  • kissing lots of kissing
These are the tags where they are, or might easily be, already together! For the established relationship one, I'd love if you leaned into the fact that maybe no one outside of these three really knows any of them that well -- maybe especially Chameleon, but it could be that Beck and Mason don't fully open up around other people either. Them knowing one another well could be very romantic and hot by itself and I'd love that! For gifts as a sign of love, this could be a get-together thing but would work well for established relationships; does Mason like to give the people he loves things he makes for them? Do Chameleon and/or Beck like to spoil the people they love? For group marriage, I don't care if you handwave it being legal, just have them all consider themselves married, or have two of them actually married and have them not-legally but fully in spirit bring the third into the marriage, I just love that idea a lot. (Feel free to have a wedding or have them established-married!) And for "kissing lots of kissing"... Well, I love kissing in fic and love descriptions of kissing. Feel free to get as lovingly descriptive as you like. You could write different scenes of each potential pair kissing or you could have them all exchanging kisses in the same scene/room, I don't even mind, I just love kisses! Again, this could be in a get-together fic (or with only two together at the start) but could also be established relationship fic easily!

  • That exhausted moment late in the evening when the necktie is undone and the sleeves rolled up
  • That Time of Night So Late It's Early Again (And the Liminal Conversations Had At This Hour)
I love these quiet and intimate moment tags so much. For the first, feel free to have that describing Beck and Chameleon or you could also but Mason in a suit too; just lean into that exhausted, quiet, intimate feeling when they all finally relax. And for the second, I love early morning liminal conversations where neither of them have slept yet and maybe they're also in a liminal place... Are they on a job, just after one, planning one, in a quiet moment of downtime, traveling? Lean into the intimacy, again, and the slight unreality elements of it, and I'll adore it.

  • dorky roleplaying with Chameleon, Mysterio, and Tinkerer (especially Chameleon and especially ESPECIALLY Mysterio)
  • if you're interested, I like trans headcanons for any/all of these characters! I like the idea of Phineas as a trans man (though nonbinary or trans woman are acceptable), and I could see Quentin as anything really, and I especially like nonbinary for Chameleon. trans headcanons for any other Sinister Six if they show up are also 100% good; I would prefer Electro as a trans woman or nonbinary if you write that character as trans, but anything goes for all the rest of them! and of course trans headcanons aren't obligatory!

Vampire Cleanup Department (2017)
Yeung Chung/Yip Chi Chau

[Where you can find the movie: Here!
(turn on the English closed captions in the bottom right if you need them; it's also available in Spanish!)

Also, enjoy these gifs as an enticement to get into this canon (with some spoilery moments) :D]

Vampire Cleanup Department is a Hong Kong comedy-horror-romance movie that came out four years ago and short version: The titular VCD is a secret government-created agency that disguises themselves as cleaners but really go around using talismans and other magical items to hunt down and destroy vampires, specifically jiangshi (which means they hop around with their arms outstretched, and this is by turns played as creepy, funny, and cute). But when the main character Tim Cheung joins up after being bitten by a vampire and not turning, he finds out that his dead parents used to work for the VCD until a mission went terribly wrong, and accidentally winds up bonding with a vampire named Summer who starts changing and gaining more human emotions and mentality after biting him. He trains with the VCD while keeping the fact that he didn't actually destroy her when he was supposed to a secret.

I am here for different characters, however! And oh man I am so into them. Yip Chi Chau is Tim's "master," the early-50s-ish combat expert of the VCD who trains Tim in how to fight vampires; he knew Tim's parents and was close friends with his father, Yat Lung Cheung, and promised them that he'd take care of Tim as they were dying. Yeung Chung, or "Uncle Chung," is an older man in his 70s who's the director of the VCD and their "technical support" and a more openly kindly figure.

Where Chau is an incredibly skilled fighter and trainer, Chung is definitely not a combatant... but he is still brave enough to go into the field, and to step in to help people when they're in trouble, and he's great at directing the others during a fight. Where Chau is closed-off and hot-headed, Chung is calm, amiable, and understanding, good at being diplomatic when it's needed (and at distracting people so the others can work)... and also good at calming Chau down and redirecting him. They've worked together for decades, and despite what Chung says multiple times to Chau about training new blood so that they can eventually retire, neither of them seems to be willing to just quit. They know each other incredibly well ("Have I ever misjudged anyone? And you... never mean what you say."), Chau saved Chung and a rookie police officer in the very first scene (while Chung called for his help), when Tim was in trouble Chung called Chau back from a chase...

And in a moment that really got me, when Tim's "final test" went wrong and Chung tried to step in to help him against the vampire that was trying to kill him. Summer showed up to help as well and accidentally flung both the vampire and Chung through a table, and Chau reacted with such immediate alarm to kill the vampire before it could attack Chung! Chung was hurt and needed medical attention, and with Chung hurt and also not around to calm him down, Chau was furious with Tim. (I will also say that during that final test, Chau was acting like a nervous parent... while Chung sat on the couch and video taped everything, also like a parent, haha.)

Even when Tim is the one training the new recruits at the end of the movie, it's Chau and Chung standing on the walkway above watching and obviously still involved despite any talk of retirement, chatting and comfortable with one another. I just really love their shared history, how obvious it is that Chau cares deeply about certain people -- Chung, Tim, and Tim's father in the past -- despite him not saying it or being touchy-feely, and how comfortable with one another they are and how well they work together and know one another as people.

Requested Tags

  • Accidental Non-Human Baby Acquisition
Okay, this tag is a very specific prompt, IMO, and I just love it. Whether this is a jiangshi (or half-jiangshi???) baby or another type of non-human/supernatural creature (maybe the VCD building or van becomes haunted by a ying ling/"infant spirit" or the baby of a ba jiao gui/"banana tree ghost"?), I am happy with either just these two acquiring the baby/primarily taking charge of it or the entire Department acquiring the baby and there just being a focus on these two's feelings about it/how they handle it. Also, feel free to have it be a baby or a slightly older child... I wouldn't even say no to a non-human teenager!

  • Accidental Soulbond
  • Exploring Ancient Ruins (and maybe they are haunted)
  • Ghosts become corporeal for a limited time annually and are able to move freely
  • Time Loop - Both Stuck And Escape by Both Revealing Feelings
  • Time Loop - POV Character Stuck And Escapes by Revealing Feelings
  • Trapped in Haunted Building
  • vanishing hitchhiker
  • Weird Places Where Time and Space Go Flooey; Also Maybe There Are Ghosts
Okay, there are quite a few tags in this batch so I'll try to keep this short. These are the tags where the characters would be dealing with weird/supernatural things that don't show up in canon! I'd be equally happy if these things are brand new to the characters, if they've heard of these sorts of things before, or if they've experienced these or similar things in the past. (And/or maybe Priest Ginger has some ideas about how to deal with them/what they might be?) As for a soulbond, what could cause it, is it possible to break or not, and what symptoms come with it? A telepathic bond, an empathic bond, shared dreams, shared sensations, a need to be in proximity to one another, a need to touch, a need to have sex? I am good for anything there! All kinds of ghosts could be really, really fun (whether time and space is working right or not), time and space going weird in an area is always fun (with or without ghosts)... Since they drive everywhere a vanishing hitchhiker could be really fun. Finally, the time loop stuff is always really, really neat, and I like the two different possibilities: either both must reveal feelings (which are maybe, by this point, mutual!) or one (maybe Yeung Chung?) has to actually admit his feelings when he hadn't been planning to; is it mutual, not mutual, or is that a question Yip Chi Chau just hasn't really wanted to answer to himself yet or something he hadn't thought about before this?

  • Altered States – Character is out of it due to pain
  • Case Fic - Character Investigating the Case Winds Up Hurt/In Peril as a Result
  • Driving with a sick character sleeping in the passenger seat
  • Sick/Hurt Character Still Has To Get Their Job Done
Oh man, for most of these I do not mind at all which of them is hurt or sick. Depending on who's out of it due to pain, would be maybe act uncharacteristically or say things he otherwise might not? "Investigating a case" is probably looking into a jiangshi situation for the department, and either could easily wind up hurt (or in peril!) and need to be helped by the other, or maybe both get hurt/in trouble? Either could be driving while the other is sick; where are they going? Back to the department after a mission, is one taking the other home, or someplace else? Finally, whether they're sick or hurt, I could honestly imagine either of them still going in and reasoning that they need to do their job. Does Yeung Chung try to talk Yip Chi Chau into resting so he doesn't get himself into trouble pushing himself into dangerous situations? Does Yip Chi Chau (and maybe the others) provide backup to Yeung Chung so that he can still play his role?

  • Bedside Vigils
  • Emergency Amateur Person-to-Person Blood Transfusion
  • Hurt/Comfort - Both A/B are hurt and looking after each other
  • Hurt/Comfort - desperate CPR/kiss of life to resuscitate love interest
  • Hurt/Comfort - Helping a character improvise an arm/shoulder sling
  • Hurt/Comfort - Helping a character on with shirt/jacket as they have an arm or shoulder injury
  • Hurt/Comfort - Keeping sick/hurt character warm
  • Hurt/Comfort - Long-term recovery from near-fatal injury
  • Hurt/Comfort - Sick/hurt pining A asks for B while delirious
  • Hurt/Comfort - Tending injuries
  • Hurt/Comfort - Worried third party calls sick/hurt character's emergency contact
  • Hurt/Comfort - Wound care given while character is close to passing out
  • patching someone up with the first aid kit from your car
  • Pining - Pining A gives pined-for B an emergency blood transfusion using their own blood
  • Reading to hurt/injured character
HURT/COMFORT TAGS. Let me keep this brief! For any of these tags, I am perfectly happy with either or both of them being hurt or sick! Most of these are pretty straightforward as prompts by themselves, but for interesting variations and added possibilities... A blood transfusion could also be necessary if, for example, in an AU where Yip Chi Chau is still a jiangshi after the end of the movie, if he's maybe refusing to drink blood. Hell, "long-term recovery after a near-fatal injury" could also involve Yip Chi Chau needing to regain as much of himself as possible after being turned into a jiangshi: re-learning how to walk normally, fight, even talk and not want to bite people... Maybe a character needs to be kept warm after an attempted possession by a shui gui/"water ghost." As for some specifications: For (temporarily or assumed) one-sided pining I prefer it to be Yeung Chung doing the pining. I love the idea of them being each others' closest family/emergency contacts whether or not they're together or have even discussed what that means if anything (it means something). Finally, "wound care given while character is close to passing out" could easily mean the person who was wounded is close to passing out, the person caring for their wounds is close to passing out (also wounded? sick? exhausted?), or both!

  • Badass in Distress
  • Case Fic - Character Investigating the Case Winds Up Hurt/In Peril as a Result
  • Character A narrowly saves Character B from certain death
  • character draws negative attention onto themselves to protect another
  • Hurt/Comfort – Huddling for warmth
  • Loyalty Kink - Risking Self For Someone
  • Mutual Protectiveness
  • Rescue Missions
  • A rescues B from trouble B knowingly walked into
Again, I'm gonna try to keep this brief, but these are the tags where someone is in trouble if not actually actively hurt! (Though you're welcome to have them hurt, too.) Yip Chi Chau is the team badass so him being in distress and needed helped during/after could be great. It'd be really easy for either/both of them looking into a jiangshi case to get in peril. I would be so equally happy to have either of them save the other from certain death, draw attention to themself to protect the other, or risk themself for the other. I looove huddling for warmth and would love for you to just luxuriate in writing that one, honestly. I love mutual protectiveness in general and could really enjoy fic that explores/plays with how differently they approach situations and their different skill sets. And I love rescue missions! Is it Yip Chi Chau going to rescue Yeung Chung come hell or high water, or did Yip Chi Chau get himself into trouble and Yeung Chung has to figure out/coordinate a way to rescue him? Or, for just the "Rescue Missions" tag, do they work together (in that very skilled way they have) to rescue a third party, either one of the other VCD members or a civilian?

  • Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence
  • Alternate Universe - Vampire
Okay there is SO MUCH possibility for these AU tags! For canon divergence, I would love for you to have fun with where you diverge! Do Yat Lung Cheung and his wife not die? Does Tim decide not to join the VCD? Do they successfully destroy the landlord jiangshi before he can escape and grow stronger? Does the truth about Summer come out earlier (and do they listen or not)? Does Yip Chi Chau not disastrously interrupt Tim while he's demonstrating that it's not necessary to kill jiangshi? Does someone else (maybe Yip Chi Chau) get hurt instead of Yeung Chung? Does someone else (maybe Yeung Chung) get bitten instead of Yip Chi Chau? Does Summer not die? Is there no cure for being a jiangshi, leaving Yeung Chung to stay on with the VCD as a good/"human" jiangshi like Summer, trying to get back to normal and re-learn things like how to walk normally and fight and maybe talk and not want to bite people? And for Vampire AU... Well, that maybe sounds odd for a vampire canon, but play around with whatever that might mean to you! Instead of not turning, maybe Tim becomes a jiangshi when bitten but keeps his mind entirely? Or by vampire AU, maybe instead of jiangshi they deal with some other kind of vampire or similar entity: the classical European-type vampire, nureyomejo, nukekubi, manananggal, penanggal, Pontianak, something else? Or again, maybe by Vampire AU, there is no cure and Yip Chi Chau is stuck as a "human" jiangshi and continues on with the Department like that (maybe with Summer as well)?

  • Behind Enemy Lines
  • campfire scene
  • Lost/trapped together in a strange/spooky/dangerous place
  • on the run/on a mission together - all we have is each other and the car we're driving
  • Pre-Canon - What sort of adventures did the character(s) go on before canon?
  • Roadtrip
  • Stranded at Roadside Motel (Storm Optional)
  • Subtle creeping psychological horror
  • Trapped together - snowed in
Okay, these ones are just sort of general scenario tags. I'll try to keep this brief. "Behind Enemy Lines" could potentially be if they end up deep in dangerous territory tracking down a jiangshi (or another sort of supernatural being). Campfire scene would probably be out in the wilderness while they're trying to track something down; why do they need to stop to make a campfire, or are they trying to lure it in? Lost or trapped together in a strange/spooky/dangerous place speaks for itself tbh. For the "on a mission together" tag, how far do they sometimes have to drive in their work vehicles? Do they usually go as a big team or do they sometimes go in small groups/just two people? Do they ever travel farther afield (roadtrip!) for work, or travel for non-work-related reasons? I'd love a look at some mission they went on pre-canon! I'd love for them to get stranded at a roadside motel, storm optional, jiangshi optional, haunting optional! If they're trapped snowed in somewhere, where are they? That roadside motel, the VCD bunker, one of their apartments, someplace dangerous? Is the power working or out? And finally, "subtle creeping psychological horror"... I'd love for something to start off feeling more canon-typical and just slowly turn up the horror, if that makes sense! Just as long as the ship is in there, they both survive, and the ending is at least mostly happy I will be happy.

  • bickering like an old married couple
  • Character A Was Possessed And Character B Was The Only One To Notice
  • The softer side of harder characters
These tags are about the characters knowing each other far, far too well, and I am a complete sucker for that. A total sap. Holy shit. They've known one another for decades and know each other intimately well by the point canon happens, understand one another, and care a lot. I love the "bickering like an old married couple" trope, and they do that a lot in the movie, tbh, so just keep on with that! The idea of them knowing one another so well that the other can notice when something is wrong and it's not really them is catnip to me; I am perfectly happy with either of them as Character A! And finally, Yip Chi Chau is the only one of the two of them that's a "harder" character, really, and I do love the moments of softness he has for the people he really does care about, including Yeung Chung. If you just lean into that, I will be super happy.

  • Blood Drinking
Okay, I feel like this tag could go one of two ways, honestly? On the one hand, blood drinking doesn't have to be between these two. Does one of them get bitten, or even have to observe someone close to them getting bitten? On the other hand, well. I have brought up the idea of an AU where there was no cure and Yip Chi Chau has to come to terms with being a "human" jiangshi and stay on with the VCD that way and re-learn how to fight and function mostly normally... Even if that happens, biting is (probably) out of the question (BUT WHAT IF?), but Yeung Chung getting Yip Chi Chau blood to drink or even Yeung Chung bleeding himself for him to drink... could be very, very good. Just saying.

  • Case Fic - Investigating Something Paranormal/Supernatural
Just a tag that lines up with canon 100% and I am equally 100% here for it! I mean, feel free to have it be something paranormal/supernatural other than jiangshi if that's where your heart takes you, I'd also love that! But I'd totally love a fic that's them dealing with a jiangshi problem just like they do in canon. Love it.

  • Character A Confesses Feelings Because They Think Character B is Unconscious
  • Requited Unrequited Love
While any other fics based on any other tags could involve getting together and/or feelings being confessed, these two tags have that premise baked in. And I am so into it. I am good with mutual pining, but I'll admit, if it's initially one-sided/if one of them starts pining far earlier, I can really easily see it being Yeung Chung. Still, honestly, I feel like either of them could have an easier time saying something if they think the other will never hear it, Yeung Chung because maybe he never means to confess ever and Yip Chi Chau because he really isn't great at being open with his feelings. And I see "requited unrequited love" being a scenario where for a while (maybe even a long while) it is unrequited, but eventually it becomes requited, so I'd love Yeung Chung to fall first tbh! (Potentially years, maybe even up to twenty years, earlier...)

  • Character A Doesn't Realize How Much Power They Have Over Character B
  • Character Surprised By Their Own Deep Loyalty Feels; Object Of Loyalty Even More Surprised
  • Falling In Love
  • implicit trust
  • Pining - Unwilling to admit pining for fear of ruining existing relationship
  • Self-Sacrifice - Character A attempts to sacrifice themself for B; B gets very upset
  • Sudden Realization - A's Near Death Experience Makes B Realize Feelings for A
  • Weaker Character A protects stronger Character B
I labeled this set of tags "love" when I was working on grouping tags together, and... yeah. Some of these say "love" clearly in the prompt but they all feel like love to me. For the first tag, just due to the way I see them, I can really imagine Yeung Chung has Character B, but I would not be disappointed at all if you did it the other way! And with the second tag, where I can see Yeung Chung as the surprisingly deeply loyal one, but it might surprise both of them to realize just how deeply loyal Yip Chi Chau actually is. For that one and the "falling in love" one, I could imagine it being a scenario where they fall for each other or a story that explores when one fell for the other. "Implicit trust" could be either for the other and I'd love to know what scenario they're in where that comes up! Or it could be that both of them implicitly trust the other... For the pining tag, I can definitely imagine Yeung Chung does not want to say anything about his feelings because they've been close for decades and he also doesn't want to throw off their working relationship as well as their friendship/familial bond... but maybe Yip Chi Chau is unwilling to admit things even to himself because he doesn't want anything to change? For the self-sacrifice prompt I can see either being willing to sacrifice for the other and the other getting very upset (frantic/terrified? angry? both?); does that come with a confession or even a realization that doesn't need a confession? For the sudden realization tag, I could see Yeung Chung almost dying being what makes things click for Yip Chi Chau, or I could see Yip Chi Chau almost dying during a mission being when Yeung Chung first realizes his own feelings are more than just not wanting to see another teammate die. And finally, well... Yeung Chung is definitely the weaker of the two of them; he's not a fighter and I'd love to see him protecting Yip Chi Chau anyway! Physically? By distracting? Legally in some way through his personability and professionalism?

  • Character keeps getting back up no matter how many times they are down
  • Competence - highly effective teamwork
  • Killing Monster Together Instead Of Communicating Your Feelings
I won't lie, when I was labeling all these tag groupings, I labeled this one "damn." These are just "character being impressive, which is hot to me" tags, tbh! For the first tag, that's almost certainly Yip Chi Chau; does he keep getting back up to protect the others/Yeung Chung or just in general, and how does Yeung Chung feel about it? For the competence tag, I just love how well the team works with Yeung Chung orchestrating things in the field and Yip Chi Chau acting with quick skill, so lean into that and I'll love it! And finally, that last tag is so good. I feel like it's not even just "killing a monster while one or both have feelings," it's specifically instead of communicating, so maybe one or both was in danger during the situation and there's unspoken protectiveness and fear that something will happen going on, or maybe before they came up on the monster (the jiangshi? something else?) they had a conversation where some things were hinted at/not quite touched on and there is all this unspoken stuff still hanging around them while they do their job?

  • Characters meet for tea/drinks/food and dance around subjects and it's bittersweet but heartwarming
  • Conversations In Liminal Spaces On The Border Of One World And Another
  • Finding Someone Sleeping and Putting a Blanket or Coat Over Them
  • Intimacy - One character shaves another's face with a straight razor
  • Late-Night Discussions Outside in the Gently Falling Rain
  • Lingering Touch
  • Shirtsleeves rolled up to elbows
  • Smoking kink - Lighting a cigarette for the other person while it's in their mouth
  • Smoking kink - sharing your last cigarette
  • That exhausted moment late in the evening when the necktie is undone and the sleeves rolled up
  • That Time of Night So Late It's Early Again (And the Liminal Conversations Had At This Hour)
These are the quiet intimacy tags, the tags where maybe nothing gets said but there's an aching closeness and longing there, an element that I absolutely adore for these two. I will try to keep this brief! Meeting to share tea/drinks/food and not quite talking about certain things and it being very mixed, emotionally, is always something I am here for; it works perfectly for them, I think. Liminal spaces can mean a lot of things, and I'd be happy if "on the border of one world and another" is literal in a weird supernatural way they might run into or if it's more like, empty halls and stairwells, abandoned buildings, dark spaces after hours when you're not supposed to be there, airports or truck stops, etc. Or maybe it's both. But really lean into the surreal quiet unreality and the intimacy that can be found in conversations there! I looove when someone finds another person sleeping and puts a blanket or coat over them, it's such a small warm gesture. Trusting someone to handle a blade near your face and throat is a bigger warm gesture and is kinda hot tbh; does Yeung Chung utterly trust Yip Chi Chau with a blade near him, or is Yeung Chung one of the only people Yip Chi Chau might trust to have a blade that close to him? Talking late at night outside when the rain is gently falling on both of you feels like just such an inimate thing; this could also involve either dancing around subjects or liminality. Gentle, almost casual, but lingering touches are catnip to me, especially with these two. Being comfortable enough around someone to roll up your shirtsleeves around them, maybe undo your tie, maybe it's late evening, but maybe just the shirtsleeves thing -- I love that. Whether cigarettes or cigars, I adore the intimacy of lighting someone's while it's in their mouth or just sharing it between them. And again, liminality, conversations that are themselves something a little unreal and in-between, in the early morning night hours. Love this shit. Lean into any of these or any combination of these and I'm guaranteed to absolutely adore it.

  • Forced Proximity - THERE WAS ONLY ONE BED
  • intimate conversations in cars that lead to intimate makeouts
  • Soulbonds - Soulbonding is the only way for A to save severely injured B's life
And then these are the, uh, not-so-quiet intimacy tags. Tags where the two get closer than the quiet intimacy tags above, sometimes quite a lot closer! For forced proximity, if they're traveling do they ever sometimes have to stay in hotels or little inns? Are they ever stuck in a situation where they need to share a bed? Is it usually totally normal but this once one or both of them find it... different? Or is it not a usual thing at all and feels strange because of it? For the second tag, well, it leading to them making out is definitely more intimate than a lot of the previous tags! Are they already together, have they kissed before, or is this something brand new and maybe impulsive on one or both of their parts? What the heck was the conversation about? Finally, one soulbonding to the other to save their life is very interesting to me. They deal with solely jiangshi in the movie, but have they ever dealt with other supernatural things before; is there some different creature or magic or artifact that they already know of that could cause this, or is this an AU where they're common/known? (Is it something Priest Ginger can maybe do?) Is the soulbond possible to break or not, and what symptoms come with it? A telepathic bond, an empathic bond, shared dreams, shared sensations, a need to be in proximity to one another, a need to touch, a need to have sex? I am good for anything there!

  • this fandom is tiny gimme whatever you think I'd like (other than DNWs) I trust you
What it says on the tin tbh! Take inspiration from any of my other prompts, or from prompts in any of my other letters, or from any of the (four) fics that have been written for this ship (three for written for me, one was written by me!), or from these songs that make me think of them... Or just keep in mind my general likes and go wild! Anything you think I'd like for these two, go for it. I love them and I'll love whatever you come up with, seriously!

Canon-Specific DNWs

  • permanent character death of requested characters (temporary is fine)
Canon-Specific Likes

  • noncanon background pairings I actually enjoy if they happen to come up: Ginger/Kui(/M), Tim/Winter
  • Tim/Summer is ofc also good in the background, feel free to just have Summer survive
  • AU where no cure exists, Chau remains a jiangshi at the end of the movie, and he stays on with the VCD as a good jiangshi like Summer
  • nicknames! pet names! names in general! they seem to refer to one another as Chau and Chung (or sometimes, semi-sarcastically, "Uncle" Chung). do they always stick to that however close they are? do they ever call one another by first name, or shift over to doing so? does Chau ever call him Old Chung or old man/grandpa in the somewhat disparaging (but still fond) sense? does Chung ever call Chau by anything like Old Chau, Young Chau (or Ah-Chau), Young Chi (or Ah-Chi)? or does either absently or purposefully get affectionate, calling the other something like dear/darling or old man (in the boyfriend/husband sense...) or even one of the endearment forms of silly/fool/dummy/idiot? does Chung ever call Chau Master/Sifu like Tim does, just to refer to him as Tim's master, and does it hit different coming from Chung than when Tim calls him that? seriously, I love any type of this shit, go nuts!
  • some exploration of sexuality stuff for these two! Chung has a granddaughter but no other family is mentioned; is he bi and is just seperated from his wife or she died, or is he gay and he just had a wife and child back before admitting it to himself/them and they separated after that? Chau seems to be a bachelor; is he gay or bi or does he think he's straight (but oops he's not)?
  • if you're interested, I could like trans headcanons for either of these characters. for Chung I most like the idea of trans man, but nonbinary is also good, just not trans woman. for Chau anything goes, though, and anything is fine for any of the other characters as well! and of course trans headcanons aren't obligatory.
